I don't think he slipped away. He underperformed as a starter for us and a starter is what he wanted to be, not a setup man. Nobody shed any tears when he was gone. Lamenting about it now is simply a case of the accuracy of hindsight.
IIRC, Brandon Morrow was brilliant for the Jays for about 3 years, including a thrilling no hit bid that had yours truly sitting in a parking lot listening to the 9th inning on his car radio. And then, his arm blew out. It has taken until now for the arm to heal and be effective again.
I know he had some decent years and some brilliant performances (not sure about brilliant years) but I don't think he ever lived up to the expectations of his live arm. And again, nobody shed any tears when he was gone from the team.
At 5"6' is Altuve the shortest #3 hitter in the history of MLB??

Joe Morgan was a #3 hitter for a while similar build.
I love watching Altuve stand next to Judge. Kid standing next to giant.

Astros and Dodgers. I am rooting for the Astros because:
* I would like to see Houston win their first World Series
* I hate the dodgers and their massive payroll
* If Houston wins, then they may not be as hungry next year so Toronto has one less team to worry about
* Liriano has been ineffective for Houston, but we got some good young talent for him
* Puig is an asshole
* Nolan Ryan is baseball, Magic Johnson is....not
