Down to 4 after 2 playoff holes. will have to finish tomorrow. I thought he had that one on the 2nd playoff.

Thought he would win as well on the 2nd playoff hole. Either way, he hit a crucial 4-5 footer on the 18th to get into the playoff. Guaranteed himself a win or Tie-2nd money, rather than 5th place money.

Resumes at 8:00 tomorrow.

It's nice to see some clutch play from a Canadian on tour. Sundays have not been the friend of Canadians in contention for most of the past 2 years.

Tiger Woods shot a 73 on Thursday at the Hero World Challenge his first round back. 17th out of 18th, on a relatively easy course, but given some of his messy returns in the past it seemed positive.

He has proceeded to go -11 in his next 23 holes, and is currently 5th, 3 shots out of the lead in a very strong field. Love him or hate him his returns always bring intrigue (although diminished each time).

Certainly at a much better state coming back then he has in the past. Maybe somebody finally got his ego in check and he didn't rush back this time.

Love him or hate him, there is always a lot of interest when it comes to Tiger.

For those looking to follow the PGA tour season as it starts to get closer to Major Season in early April.

The best player in the world right now might be Japan's Hideki Matsuyama. In his last 7 events, he has 4 wins, 2 second place finishes, and 1 5th place finish. (Granted 2 of the events were Japanese tour events that he won)

Great things were Matsuyama but he has largely been stagnant since 2013 when he entered the world top 20 at age 21. For the next 3 years he was good, but stayed right around the #20 mark. Now he is #6. and is fractions behind Jordan Speith for #5.

The top 6 in the world right now is an interesting group - 4 players under 30 (American, Aussie, Euro, and Asian), the veteran Henrik Stenson, and the bomber in Dustin Johnson.

58 Watch for Adam Hadwin. -11 under 14 holes, he needs 3 birdies in the last 4 holes to shoot 58, 2 to shoot 59. He is

Golf Channel taking their time to get the cameras over to the course (event is on 3 courses), so you have not missed anything yet, but they claim they will start being able to show him shortly.

Canadians off to a fine start at Torrey Pines

After Day one 3 players in the top 10, including Hadwin who continues his solid play

2 Adam Hadwin
3 Brad Fritsch
8 Graham Delaet
19 Nick Taylor
32 Mackenzie Hughes

Even though it's just day one I don't remember any tournament with 3 Canadians in the Top 10, and 4 in the Top 20,

And Mo, the most amazing part to me is that the top three scores on the South Course (the US Open course, which is the stronger of the two used this week ) are friggin' Canucks! :canada::hail::clap2::rockon::cheer2: Best first round ever for Our boys ever! And Brooke had a solid start in the Bahamas yesterday too!

They all made the cut, but it is a little disappointing to see they all faded on their last nine today except for Hadwin. There was a time today where there were 4 Canucks in the top 10.

This tournament really demonstrated that there are 4 rounds and you need to play well in all them to get a big cheque. After round 1 it looked good for all 5 Canadians, but they all played poorly on the weekend and pissed away a lot of money.

Yep - the odds suggested that there should at least be one of them should have hung in there, which is what I always hope for on a Sunday. It was disappointing to see all 5 go in reverse fairly quickly on Saturday.

Anybody following the tour yet or are you waiting for the Masters?
This week has been weather delayed at the Genesis Open. Just starting up finishing the 2nd round. Top 70 make the cut. Tournament organizers optimistic they will get tournament completed by end of day Sunday. We'll see if the weather co-operates.

BTW what happened to this California drought?

I am following it still, but it does take something interesting to me to follow it much before Sunday other than looking at the daily leaderboard. At this point of the year for me, Saturday's and sometimes Sunday are focused on college basketball.

The race for #1 in the World Rankings is pretty interesting. By the end of the month, any one of 6 players could be ranked #1 in the world.

Day, Mcilroy, Johnson, Stenson, Matsuyama, Speith.
