With a t5 finish in the second playoff event , Adam Svensson has likely earned enough money to get his tour card via the web com playoffs. Not quite a gimme yet. The line is usually 35,000 to be safe and he has now made over 37,000.

Through 11 holes sunday, Cory Conners is a t-11. If he can hold that spot he will clinch a PGA tour card for next season. Something for Canadian golf fans to follow this afternoon.

Adam Svensson missed the cut and fell from 7th to 16th in the standings as of now. If he misses the cut next week he may still be top 25 but it would be close for comfort.

Corey Connors gets into the clubhouse at t-12. That is enough to get his pga tour card for next year.

So we are back to at least six Canadians on tour next year but a younger cast as David Hearn and Brad Fritsch are gone, and Ben Silverman and Corey Connors are in.

It also is more likely than not that Adam Svensson clinched his card next week, and Roger Sloan is #27, so a top 15 finish next week may get him his card as well.

It could be a tough night sleep for Adam Svensson this evening. He missed the cut so he is at the mercy of how the results mix across the field. He is currently projected at 25th in the standings based on if the standings finish like they are at the end of the third round. He has been floating around between 24-27 projected the last day and a half, so it really can go anywhere.

He would be the 7th Canadian to get a full card next year, which I think would be a record. This year there was six.

Svensson in full blown sleep deprivation after ending up 26 on a top 25 list. Sloan also had tough finish. One more web season for these guys. Connors will be interesting to watch as he has same pedigree as Hughes. Fall events will be big for these Canucks!

Adam Svensson will almost certainly get his pga tour card, but a year later then he wanted.

He won an event on the web com tour today, which puts him in great shape to get his card next yearZ

Played like he belonged, good on him especially so soon after that bitter disappointment of 26th!

Boys on on the big tour have varied results do far, Connors making every cut he's played while Brn has had solid weeks. Hadwin finally found some form last weekend while Hughes and Taylor are plugging along. The ole boys (DeLaet and Hearnsie) have yet to make any dent. With all that, I guess only Tiger is what everyone's talking about!

Not a big deal, but of note, Dustin Johnson has signed on to be part of Team RBC. Has he ever played in the Canadian Open, or will this year be his first?

Probably their highest profile signing ever. Vijay Singh was also a big signing for them.

Since he's been with Paulina, he's been playing Cdn open. Didn't play Hilton Head after Masters but now will. Go where the bucks are! Definitely a big pickup for RBC...

Big news for the Canadian open to be made official Tuesday. It will be moved to early June week before the us open.

For most of the past dozen years the tournament has been in schedule hell as it followed a British open, and right before a wgc event and the pga. Players don’t like playing 4 weeks in a row, much less on both sides of the continent. And the other 3 events were must attend for any top 50’player in the world.

This move will drastically increase the field. If they play their cards right they should be able to get a strong euro contingent.

Might as well continue this thread for canadians.

Big event a few weeks back for a Toronto journeyman last week in Michael Gligic. He has to play the Canadian tour last year, and this year was able to get back on the web.com. With a win last week he is very likely of ending up in the top 25 and get his pga tour card next year.

There are 8 candians playing fairly regularly this year, although most are excluded from top or smaller field events.

Only Hadwin and Taylor retained their cards last year. Hughes still has en exemption from winning two years ago. connors, Silverman and Hearn all have some level of exempt status after playing decently last year. Svensson is a new rookie and Sloan is back for a second crack.

As of now Hadwin and Corey Connors are doing quite well in the top 40 on tour and are in great shape to retain their cards. Taylor would also retain his card. Svebsson and Sloan would have semi exempt status next year. The others are struggling.

I haven’t see Weir in last place and missing cuts this year...is he out of exemptions?
I think I saw his name in a web.com event a few weeks ago. Seniors tour is looking good right now.

All I can say is Corey Conners is having himself a hell of a ten day binge going on here. Monday Q (6 for 1 spot playoff win to get in!), plays first nine in 1 over, then goes cray cray for the next 63. Included is that astonishing display on Sunday( 10 birds, 4 bogs in a row!!!) to capture tournament and get the last spot for the Masters. And today he leads the Masters after eagling 15. Play on, Corey!

He bogeyed 18 and is currently one back. Weir played well at even par.
