This tournament that the Brazilian team is participating will have almost no NBA players . The Canadian team is made up of a lot of players we have never heard of ...

I don't think the Boston offer was bad. Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder and a draft pick. I think when you trade a superstar, you're trading the "now" for the future. In that trade they get a bit of both. If that rumour was accurate.
Wonky you pretty much got it right!
Irving to Boston for Thomas, Crowder, Ante Zizic and Brooklyn's 2018 first round pick!

What a friggin trade ... A lot to hate about the NBA ( super teams ) but between trades and free agency they are always making big news ..

Cavs got deeper and are going to be scary ....

They may be deeper, but are they better? Thomas is a downgrade from Kyrie, and Crowder and Zizic won't help much in the playoffs. The Brooklyn pick might be in the lottery, which will help them long-term, but Lebron will be long gone by then. Having said that, I don't think that the Cavs could have done better.

What is Kyrie team record without Lebron in the line up .... Lottery standings bad ... Thomas took a Celtics team to a Conference number 1 standing . I am not saying Kyrie is bad but just saying that his resume has done well being a teammate of Lebron .

Crowder gives the Cavs another big body in nights Tristian Thompson has a off night . The Cavs did well for trading a player that demanded a trade .. Those type of demands often don't result well for teams .

I agree that the Cavs did well..I think I said as much earlier :) I'd take Kyrie over Thomas 100 times out of 100, though. Sure Kyrie was playing with Lebron, but he also has shown that he can be the guy down the stretch in The Finals when it counts (see 2016). With Crowder, Thomas, JR Smith, and Kevin Love, I'm not sure who's going to be playing defence for the Cavs lol. Right now, it's all about being able to beat the Warriors. I don't see that the Cavs are any closer to being able to do that now than they were in June.

Yeah the Cavs got more than I thought they would for a guy that stated he did not want to play for them. Celtics must really believe he is the real deal, as long as he is content in Boston he shouldn't hurt their effort.
Getting concerned about the Raps, looks to me like they are either short players starting or on the bench. No proven depth! The young guys like Wright and Powell are going to have to prove themselves night after night.
Masai keeps signing guys that will end up in 905, or keep Bruno company in civvies. Not sure what to expect this year.

Aren't Raptor fans feeling the same as any other fan that doesn't live in the city of Golden State or Cleveland ? Lets hope DeRozan takes his game to another level ( add a 3 point shot to his game ) . We are playing for second or third or worse case 4th .

What I like about this trade is it gives the Cavs two players that are hungry for success cause they have fallen short in the playoffs with their old team ..

Possibility trade will be negated. Thomas allegedly has not completely recovered from the hip injury that he picked up in the finals last year.

I heard the cavs were going to ask for one more pick from the pick laden Celtics to account for this injury.

Personally I think Kyrie is better than Thomas but they get a lot for KI which improves the team overall.

superstar Kevin Durant is already one of the best scorers in the history of basketball, but he's still looking to improve.

One of Durant's current muses is Toronto Raptors All-NBA guard DeMar DeRozan, who finished as a top-five scorer last season. Durant is paying close attention to DeRozan's phenomenal footwork.

"DeMar DeRozan's probably got the best footwork I've seen in a long, long time," Durant said on the Bill Simmons Podcast. "I've been trying to watch him to see how he does it.

"He's just way more athletic than I am first of all, so his body can move a little different, but his pace is amazing. He's a guy I've been studying lately just because of his footwork. Every time I see him I'm just looking at how his body, his footwork. I think that's where I can get better."

DeRozan is something of an unconventional shooting guard since he doesn't rely on his jumper to succeed. Instead, the three-time All-Star primarily works as a slasher off a high screen, and occasionally as a post-up bully against smaller defenders.

Derozan is actually pretty smooth on offence

Apparently deal is done, Cavs get a 2020 second round pick to complete the deal.

I watched a weird press conference where KI spoke about the hard times that other players and people of Houston are facing and how he looks forward to being around an organization like the Celtics.

One day we might get the real story because how do you leave the best team in the East for a rebuilding team. Mind you with all their 1st round picks the Celtics could be looking pretty good by next offseason.

Rebuilding? They were first in the conference last year, got the #1 pick in the draft and signed Hayward. That's some rebuild lol The Cavs tried to trade Irving last year before the deadline. KI found out about it and wasn't happy. Combine this with not wanting to be second banana to Lebron, and that's why he wanted out.

A rebuild has stages making the playoffs is a partially finished product.... being a legit contender is when you transition out of rebuild.

The East is weak.... if the Celtics were in the west they would be 4th assuming they could get the same number of wins playing in the west.

Only reason they finished first was that the Cavs were pacing themselves for the playoffs.

A team without a legit big three and lots of draft picks is still rebuilding..... in today's NBA. I just don't see them as better than the Cavs..... and I hate the Cavs.
