Denmark is looking good.
I was looking at Denmark's roster, this is the deepest line up they've had in years. Andreas Cornelius is having a break out year with Atalanta.

Sunday: Derby della Madonnina - Inter vs Ac Milan. If Milan don't win, Montella is gone.

Andreas Cornelius was on the bench for the last qualification match. Niclas Bendtner has reached form since moving to Norway (Rosenborg) and played instead.

Lazio 2 Juventus 1...in Torino...SWEET!

Barzagli is too old to mark Immobile (who isn't) one on one. Argies can't take penalties, although the foul was obvious. They didn't need to go to VAR. Juve are missing Pjanic.

PSG are looking like this year's favourites to win the European Champion Cup. They really destroyed Anderlecht on the road. Hopefully, they progress through to the finals as they play some of the most attractive football thanks to some great signings this season.

In football, money talks.

The England - Italy duels were bizarre match ups. In terms of salary Manchester City alone has spent more than Napoli and Roma combined. The Italian clubs fell asleep for most of the first half, ManC has a stronger defense than Chelsea. The coaching match ups were fascinating; Sarri has adopted Guardiola's tactics, and Conte and De Francesco were members of the 2000 Azzurri that missed winning the Euro by five minutes.

Man City has a very talented bunch of youngsters that are taking the team to a new dimension. No doubt they are the top English team and will be a major side in the European Champions Cup. England has also stepped up a level in the World Cup qualifications. Unbeaten in their group and it will be interesting to see how far they progress in the actual World Cup matches. They were previously just a passenger side that participated but without any realistic expectations. The English Premier Division is still the most popular sport worldwide. No wonder the investments in clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Man City and Man United equates to the capturing of most of the talented players worldwide, by the English Premier Division teams and more recently the top managers as well.

But innovations in the game comes from Spain and Italy.

Spain is in crisis, it remains to be seen how this will affect the National Team and Barcelona. The Catalonians have not forgotten much less forgiven the Franco atrocities. However Catalonia could become depleted as multi-national companies are moving out. The big winner could eventually be Valencia.

In Italy, the only club that can match the big money clubs is Internazionale. Ac Milan are partially owned by a hedge fund, the example of the Maple Leafs could happen there. Don't be surprised if Lionel Messi is wearing a Neroazzuri kit next summer.

Will Pietro Pellegri be moving to a bigger club in January - wishful thinking?

Roma 3 Chelsea 0....me so happy!

The Putinescas take a forearm shiver from the Wolves. The Roma tifosi were against Eusebio Di Francesco getting hired as coach, I went against the majority. He did a wonderful job at Sassuolo and you need a link to Roma's last scudetto champion. Diego Perotti played like Machiste, he's a false forward and confounded the Putinesca defense. It was death on the left for them with him and Stroozzman (The Garroter) stopping them cold. Brutal substitution by Conte taking out Cahill, it gave Perotti carte blanche that ended in the third goal.

Conte made his bead, I have no sympathy for him.

Is that the Italian version of H C Andersen's Princess on a pea? Coach on a bead?

Evra goes Eric Cantona!

ManCity have a squadrone. Napoli don't have the depth to sustain an injury to a vital player. Ghullam goes down and that's the end of that. A 35 year old Christian Maggio is not able to cover Mane on his own, lots of space for other City attackers to exploit. On a brighter note, Juve get Marko Pjaca back from injury. Had he not injured himself playing for Croatia, Juve may have had a chance against Real Madrid last Final.

I was disappointed that TSN didn't show the Atalanta game, the Bergamo Babes are the most exciting team in the Europa League. Real have played too many games in the last two years, they wont be a factor next spring.

Tomorrow Sweden vs Italy. Hope the Italians make it. Would be strange not to have them part of the world cup.

One of the greatest tacticians to ever play football, Andrea Pirlo, is calling it a career. Man, could The Azzurri use him now!

When he arrived at Juventus, Gio had no dead ball skills, he learned from the best.
