Holland has a lifeline, France chokes against Lichtenstein!

GP Ventura is under sharp criticism from the Italian press. He gamble with the 4-2-4 backfired miserably. Verratti was left totally exposed, it was a repeat of what happened to Pirlo against Arsenal back in 09. It's too much to ask him to hold the line with only the ageing De Rossi for support. Not sure why Spinazzola was played out of position when Conti has already proven to be more than capable in that role. Verratti got pinched mercilessly with Isco and Koke getting freedom to roam. Most of all it left the two center forwards starved for service. Moving Spin to midfield (where he belongs) would have given Koke all he could handle. Hopefully Ventura wont make the same mistake again.

LOL....you mean Luxembourg.

Not like it will make much difference, we are pretty much fucked, and it'll be 2 tournaments in a row we will miss!!! :ambivalence:

Italy against Israel. This does not bode well for Azzurri in the world cup.

Italy pulled out a win barely ... that Israeli goalkeeper had some good saves.

Spain murdered Liechtenstein.. so did every other team in the group.

Lazio 4 Ac Milan 1

Stefan De Vrij gives young Coutrone a football lesson. When he's healthy the Laziali can beat anyone. Therefore I don't understand how Holland can be so feeble with such a rock steady defender. It didn't help that Bonaventura is not match fit and Romangnioli and Silva are injured. Ciro Immobile isn't.

These meaningless exhibition tournaments have to be shortened. Juve went into Camp Nu with 1/3 of their starting line up on the mend nothing bene can come from that. Not against a club of Barcelona's quality.

I was more concerned for Roma, let signings were yet to make their start. The good news for Roma is Florenzi was warming up, after 8 months off from injury he's a sight for sore eyes. Pellegrini should be starting, DDR was/is a great warrior but he's lost more than a step.

I thought that Buffon didn't play with the sharpness he usually does and the defense just let him down. I enjoyed watching 5 games each day channel surfing. Of course it is Thursday Europa league action, I like to watch teams that I wouldn't normally see to check out he talent.

Napoli fucked up.

I was watching that match exclusively occasionally glancing to Dortmund vs Tottenham. The club to watch in the Europa League is Inter, they have no weaknesses and Spaletti has them motorin. I was disgusted in how the Roma ultras drove him from the city - Totti didn't help.

Yup it was an easy 3 points lost by Napoli vs SD.

I was watching that Tottenham vs Borussia, I like that they have the VBB in their logo lol ... big fan of Inter going back years used to enjoy the darbys with AC when I first visited and been a fan ever since.

I wuz wrong, Inter are not in the Europa League. They got beaten out by Atalanta and Ac Milan, Lazio got the top spot.

Regardless, Inter are a serious threat to kick Juve out of their scudetto penthouse. This is their third year under Ali Baba, the first two were haphazard but now they have a top tier coach in Spaletti.

I was curious and was looking for the Inter match then i checked the schedule and didn't see them given how many teams play I didn't think about it but sad to hear. AC Milan looked good but I could only watch here and there.

Austria Vienna 1 Ac Milan 5
Atalanta 3 Everton 0
Arnhem 2 Lazio 3

Meglio.

Andre Silva has scored 7 goals including a hat trick yesterday in Europa League play. He has yet to start in a Serie A match, that will change.

Atalanta surprised me, they are a nursery club. I didn't expect them to dominate Everton the way they did. Wayne Rooney is almost done, Masiello was assigned to mark him and he scored the first goal.

Lazio underestimated their Dutch opposition. They started the match with substitutes and nearly paid for it.

Real look vulnerable. The one irreplaceable player from their lineup, Toni Kroos, is now injured. He could be out until after Remembrance Day.

The top transfers so far - it's early.

Neymar - PSG
Lukaku - Manchester United
Paulinho - Barcelona
Skriniar - Inter Milan

Romalu Lukaku's younger brother Jordan is struggling to crack Lazio's starting lineup. Getting caught out of position gifted Vitesse their second goal.

PSG 3 Bayern 0

Now I say why PSG gave Verratti that big fat contract extension, with such an awesome attacking trident someone has to spring them before opposing defenses can get set. Motta and Rabiot were the holding midfielders, Verratti dropped back to defend whenever Bayern moved forward. He made four intercepts, one resulting in the second goal with the others coming close. Contrast that with how he was used against Spain, he's too small to be a holding midfielder - even though he has the heart of Gattuso. A recipe for disaster.

In other news, Manchester United could go deep. I'm very impressed with their centerback Eric Bailly, he's brought serenity to their backfield. Something they lost when Vidic got old. Mou may be an arrogant prick but he's very good at spoting talent.

Some good games the past couple of days, okay blowouts ... enjoyed late comeback by Chelsea yesterday... brackets beginning to take shape. PSG looked good Neymar is a good fit, ManU is in form but still early.

Hey Von, loved the Gattuso reference always loved to see him play even though I was an Inter fan, that used to bother my colleagues, hey what can you do? AC had a phenomenal lineup, even had love for the offside king Inzaghi !!!
