Finally found a used HTC Vive on clearance on amazon (saved $400) and grab it. VR is fun, the VR porn is great. However, I can still see the screen door effect. The future of VR looks promising.
good deal. welcome to the future. I remember watching Star Trek Next Generation and dreaming of the day we would have holo decks. we're not that far off now

nice price drop for Oculus. Best Buy sells it with touch controllers for $549. now. same price as playstation vr.(no controllers included)
HTC vive not planning to change price at this time.

ok that was fast, Best Buy is completely sold out. you can order directly from Oculus for 549. https://www.oculus.com/rift/
it comes with a nice game bundle:Includes: headset, 2x sensors, Touch controllers, necessary cables, and seven free titles available when you set up Rift+Touch, including Lucky's Tale, Medium, Toybox, Quill, Dead and Buried, Dragon Front, and Robo Recall.

and ordering direct may save you the sales tax. when i ordered my touch controllers last Dec for 139. no taxes or shipping fees were charged.

It looks like Pimax 8K VR headset is the one to get....it is far superior to anything out ATM and will be shipping in January and a February of 2018. All the YouTube tech reviewers are impressed by it. This is the one I have been waiting for.

Tomorrow Jan 8th HTC Vive will be announcing an update in resolution. I don’t believe people know yet if it’s a brand new system or just an upgrade to the existing.

I think with Piemax 8k being introduced into the market and having a significant backing these guys at HTC are seeing a shift in the market and a loss of potential profits. I still remain skeptical that it will improve on the FOV similar to the Piemax and still am favouring the piemax. However the problem with Piemax is production delays and I don’t think they are ready just yet to ship.

Regardless of what happens right now IMO is the best time to invest in a gen 2 VR device which right now appears to be the new HTC Vive or Piemax 8k. I will definitely get one of these in the 1st quarter, however not decided yet.

Sony VR on sale for $100 price reduction this month in Canada. Pondering whether this is a good intro into VR as I don't have a PC strong enough to run HTC.

Save your $. Assuming it's first gen, if it is, SAVE IT.
Disagree with this...the Microsoft mixed reality headsets are really good and cheap and have access to the Microsoft store, the steam VR and oculus stores. They also have a thumb stick which is great for locomotion. I got one in January of this year after I decided to give up on the piemax and the new HTc Vice Pro. To this day I don’t regret this decision and they are pretty much plug and play with minimum set up and really good for immersion. I waited 2 years to make this decision. If you have a capable computer do it and pull the trigger otherwise you will be waiting for a while to enjoy VR because we don’t have capable computers that can resolve higher resolution at decent price.

Does this mean that the screen door effect is fixed? I didn't have 28 minutes to watch the whole video.

Nope, still there but slightly reduced and now they charge $800USD for the pro without accessories. The Samsung Odyssey is the best deal ATM for value, performance and functionality.

Oh good, new tech that I now have to look into now because I don't have it.

What qualifies as a capable computer? I have a i7 4790k liquid cooled at 5GHz with 16GB of RAM - not the bleeding edge it once was but no slouch either. Vid card is dated and I'm going to assume this is going to matter a lot here... do you need two cards? as in one for each eye?

Your processor is good. You only need 1 graphics card. I recommend an Nvidia GTX 1080 graphics card but the GTX 970, 980 and the GTX 1070 will work. Get any of those and your set.

Here is GTX 1070 for $550.00 CAD on amazon.ca

I've been surfing the Net and found some cool place where you'll be able to download 3d sex games for PC absolutely free. I know it sounds like a spamming advertisement but I've tested some of the games myself and they really drive me horny. It's even better than watching ordinary porno films! Because here you can take CONTROL of every aspect and thing you want, he-he.

Here is another latest video comparing the best VR headsets out ATM which is the HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro and Samsung Odyssey.

In summary Samsung Odyssey is still the best value having the same resolution at the HTC Vivie Pro at the cheapest price. I had this unit since beginning of this year and still love it.

Forget about the Piemax 8k, those guys are out to lunch and have not applied any meaningful R&D. Apparently this FOV and resolution causes issues and creates headaches and other issues to the users. This is why other companies dropped this large FOV/resolution.

I picked up an Oculus in 2016 and a Samsung Odyssey Oct. 2017. The Odyssey is quite a bit better than the Oculus. the resolution upgrade is noticeable and the fact it literally only takes a few minutes to be up and running with Windows Mixed Reality headsets. no base station set up and placement necessary. inside out tracking works well. Works on 99% of steam games and also works well with Oculus games in your library.

Is VR dead? The cost is making it hard for VR to take off with consumers. Also the lack of quality of games. The only industry is porn that seems to thrive under VR.

Nah a VR is just getting started.

I have the new oculus go which is the first stand alone VR system sold in Canada. With any real quality anyway.

It is loaded with stuff. The Santa Cruz will be out in the next year and half I think which will be even better.

I have even done some VR porn sessions. https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthrea...st-WTF-are-you-talking-about-now-Jess!!!!-LOL

But I have a few games, tons of apps, and videos.

Maybe I am just easy to please.
