XBMC Addons

Hoping you guys can share some useful addons for the xbmc, both official and unofficial such as for movie streaming and NES/SNES games and the ones you use most often.

I just got it on a set top media player box and am a bit overwhelmed with content, and don't really know where to start...

Yeah, I stay away from the 3rd party stuff and pay for all the fun. Had some time to research this, even though you can stream endless movies from places like the Phoenix I stick with Netflix and Google Play and stuff that's allowed on XBMC like the NES emulator...endless fun playing Mario Bros and Donkey Kong with the wife zup zup and you say you have an exciting life, man I could tell you a thing or two here....

This is a good toturial how to get Phoenix... I originally got it for the live TV from around the world but quickly needed to delete it once I noticed all the free movies on there like the Martian, Terminator, etc...so many movies, it was crazy and most links worked. Once I realized it was gray territory, I removed it....

How do you justify the gray area...not criticizing you, just want your opinion, as you might not care which is fine, or you have a solution as to how this will not bring legal trouble if they ever decide to go after the ones who stream movies from sites like this...can they go after the Canadian streamers, are we safe, is VPN a way around it and pretend like we are in Japan or some other countries?

OK, so after trying all these options such as the Phoenix, The Beast, The Spartan ect...I finally stumbled on one that works BEST all around and is most stable with many many working links.

Its called retromania. Original I installed it for the gaming since they have everything from Atari, Commodore 64, Nintendo, SNES, Sega, to Play Station and Nintendo DS. I was surprised that their layout was actually nice and have good movie, show, sports and live TV selection.

Their FB group name is retromaniakodi.

So why not add complete package like Retromedia or the beast or spartan which has packaged these addons including icefilms, navix, phoenix and all the live sports you can handle plus many many other addons. Why do it one by one when guys have already packaged this for you in a nice UI.

Does the UI look similar to the video? Is it usable? You can do a fresh start under the settings or system tab in retromania and your kodi is back to original look you're used to. I did a fresh install and for me the retromedia worked when installed new on a fresh kodi version on MINIX system. I can give you the guys e-mail or you can join the Facebook group for any help. They are really good and one of the devs is from Mississauga.

This is a total package so it will change your UI, however you should still be able to add other add-on and you can even change the skins.

Just PM me and I'll send you his e-mail if needed. If not, just delete the kodi app and reinstall it and do it on a fresh version, then it should work. I think they updated the UI and will look a bit different from the video in this thread but from the Facebook comments it seems to work good. I also had no issues with the previous version with the Christmas theme. It takes a bit of time to understand what you're doing if this is new to you, but once you understand it really amazing the functionally it brings, all the free movies, sports, TV shows, live TV, games etc....

This is the intention of a package like The Beast, or The Spartan, or Retromedia. It installs all these packages and sections onto your kodi with its own skin. You should still be able to do the normal kodi functions, however it takes a bit of understanding. Nothing to worry about.

As practice do it on your phone if you have an Android phone. Install the kodi app from the Play store, follow the instructions in the video, and be patient. It will be worth it once you understand it and give it a chance.
