Visited the manor on weekend and I couldn't believe how many girls they had, must of had 30 girls. i noticed most of the girls are new and since I haven't been in 5 months or so I could find very few that i knew. They have changed the approach with back to back shows the whole time I was there. I would say well done to
the mangement as they have change the club and seems to pushing hard again for customer service. They were

GUELPH—The carved oak trim and high ceilings give the grand staircase at The Manor motel a baronial look; the reek of stale cigarettes and thin, buckling carpet, stained with you don’t want to know, brings the atmosphere down a few pegs.

One floor below, in “Canada’s premier gentleman’s club,” a clutch of guys sit at the bar, sip $4 beer and watch a stripper who looks like a young version of 30 Rock ’s Liz Lemonpeel off her underwear to music from satellite radio. At 3 p.m. on a Tuesday, it’s quiet. Things won’t get busy until after 11. It’s amateur night and that always draws a crowd.

Strip club manager-turned-filmmaker Shawney Cohen , 38, grew up around The Manor, a peeler bar and rundown 32-room motel housed in a once-grand 19th-century mansion built for legendary Ontario beer baron George Sleeman. Cohen’s father, Roger, now 62, bought the Guelph business, about an hour’s drive west of Toronto, more than 30 years ago.

It has defined and shaped the Cohen family, for better and often worse, ever since. Example? Cohen celebrated his 13th birthday with a lap dance, a bar mitzvah gift from the old man. The boy had wanted goalie pads.

The Manor , Cohen’s first feature-length documentary, opens the 20th edition of Toronto’s Hot Docs film festival on Thursday, the result of three years filming his family at home and work. It’s his quest to figure out what happened to his once-typical suburban family and the role the club had in the transformation.

i paid 5.00 to get in but didn't mind cause the shows went non-stop. The girtls were hot as well

The doll house used to charge that but at least it would also include a drink in the cost. So wasn't a total ripoff.

i was told a long time ago that they were told to stop giving away the free drink cause legally they cannot give away or promote drinking by offering drinks included into price. This was told to me a long time ago but believe this to be true.

Manor used to include a drink as well. I think it was $22.50 for VIP/Flamingo room cover charge including a mixed drink, I didn't really mind too much when they had the quality girls all over the place.

Same things as mentioned above, the law didn't permit it and they were forced to take it away. Thank the by-law gods. The manor at one time did two drinks with fee. Loved those days! I enjoy the new talent and being 10 damnce night and 4.00 drinks i will be certainly going in tonight. They have all sorts of selection. No cover charge for vip as well.

Movie is and was a huge success. In Guelph the Bookshelf hits highs in sales for the movie all-time and the movie opened Hotdocs film festival. I went to see in guelph and it was sold out every night. I heard from the owners that tickets were selling for 100.00 to see in toronto. i believe it is now in Waterloo cause I wanted to bring someone to see it. I was extremely well done and thought I got great value in watching. It was very brave for that family to open the closet cause almost everyone I know wouldn't do it. Family issues is not something everyone opens up to showing the world and for that I give them a TON of credit. We all have demons!

I was there the thurday before last and there seemed to be only about 8 girls working , it was ok but nothing close to 30 ..
