I wish people setting these polls up would open the selection to include choices down the middle. Third choice : I like them both , Fourth choice : I hate them both; Fifth choice: What do I care - they are just movies ! (my vote)

If you are talking about the original Star Trek and the real Star Wars, they are almost tied, but I did like the original Star Trek a lot, so I guess it wins.
Any other Star Trek is easily beaten by Star Wars.... and pretty much everything else IMO. I just dislike all the other Star Trek series'....

The 'real' Star Wars ? By that am I to assume you mean the first movie(s) with Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher ?
I too really liked the first trilogy of Star Wars movies, but with the advancements in movie making, I cannot help but really like the late '90s early 2000s Star Wars trilogy.

That said I am a Star Trek fan, a Trekkie, I liked Kirk and Spock, Picard and Data, Janeway and 7 of 9(I will not resist), as well as Deep Space Nine and Enterprise.
I eagerly wait for the next Star Trek TV series and/or movie.

The new Star Wars movies are horrible. I am a member of the official "Shoot Jar-Jar Binks Fan Club".

as would everybody else. I personally was hoping to have george lucas write into the movie the part where the storm troopers run Jar Jar threw the wood chipper. Whats a que without somebody dying?

For impact on my generation and younger, the Force is the force. For actual stories and entertainment value Trek hands down. More to the point, we're on a board dedicated to getting laid so you have to vote for Kirk.

You know, it's interesting. If you had asked me 10 years ago before the SW prequel came out, I'd have said SW hands down. But the prequel didn't live up to the hype and actually hurt the franchise (or at least it's mystique), IMO. Combine that with how kickass the latest ST movie was and I have to give the edge to ST now.

SW needs to start doing spinoff movies with key characters to resurrect the franchise.
