    Exclamation ***TERB Newbie's Guide***

Howdy. And welcome to that wonderful, other-worldly place known as the Toronto Escort Review Board (TERB)!

There have been a number of requests to have a "Newbie's Guide" put up, and it seems as if I have been delegated to do so. Therefore, here it is!

Once you have registered to post, you become a TERBite. Try not to walk up to perfect strangers on the street and say "I'm a TERBite!" This usually illicits a look of shock, and women tend to move their children a little closer while backing slowly away from you. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THAT! We are a chosen few, who obviously have more societal know-how than Joe Public.

Now, after cruising the boards and reading the postings/reviews, I'm sure you have a few questions. I'll try to answer some pre-emptively here.

If you have any others, post them here! Dammit, we're approachable!

    Question

    Q. How do I use the board features, such as "Search" and "Private Messaging (PM)"?

    A. Look up and to the right. Right below the banner ad (which occasionally has beautiful women appearing in it, just an added bonus!) you'll see a number of buttons.

user cp: let's you change your personal options, including signature, location, turning on/off PM, etc.

register: is where you, ummm... register? But you've already done that...

calendar: shows who's birthdays are coming up

members: has been disabled by Fred Zed, our illustrious leader, in his infinite wisdom.

f.a.q.: is a great resource for general board software feature usage

search: allows you to search through all the threads on the board, now over 20000 strong!

home: brings you back to the main list of forums.

    Question

    Q. What are the rules for posting?

    A. At the top of every forum, there's an "Announcement" thread. This is where board admins post the do's and dont's of posting. At the bottom, terbadmin has posted the general rules for TERB (and ERchat.com, but we won't go there right now). Basically, there are two rules. Be courteous and respectful, and don't give out illegal or personal information about any other person.

    Q. What about PM's? Can we give out more info in there?

    A. No. The board rules still apply there. Private Messages are just that, private. However, you really don't know who you're sharing information with anywhere on the board. And if you spread rumours about certain establishments, they may get undue attention from our boys in blue, which really ruins the fun for everyone. Be discrete, and don't talk about illegal activities. Period.

    Q. Rules? Why do we need rules?

    A. Rules are in place to protect the Board, the posters and the ladies we all know and love. Fred Zed wrote the following in a recent thread discussing the rules:
There are many variables that come into play in the administration of sites such as this. To name a few: bandwidth, public image, legal issues, complaints from providers and establishment owners etc. For example, all the legal risks for the postings are assumed by the owners. Board members for their part have a free membership.

As I said yesterday, board administrators, at their full discretion, set the standards as to what is acceptable at this site. Needless to say, given the diverse nature of this site it is unlikely that administrators can please everyone.

    Question

    Q. I notice you have your own "lingo". What are all those abbreviations you guys constantly use?

    A. Check out this thread -> https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthread...=&threadid=370 You`ll see all the common (and some not-so-common) abbreviations listed there. If you come across any others you can`t find there, post a question about it in that thread. One of the veterans will surely step up and answer your question.

    Q. Hey, that`s neat! But what are those "Sticky" thingees?

    A. Stickys are used by board admins to relay important information to the board members. You`ll see stickys at the top of pretty much every forum, with important information relating specifically to that facet of the industry. READ THEM ALL, before posting. There`s some pretty good info in there.

    Question

    Q. All right. I've looked around. I've seen an SP. Now I want to write a review. I've noticed that newbies are often labelled as shills when they post positive reviews. How do I avoid that?

    A. The easiest way to avoid being labelled a "shill" (a person posting for the express goal of drumming up business for the SP) is to be realistic.

Your experience with an SP may have blown your mind. She may be all things to all people, as far as you're concerned. But, in reality, she won't be. Try to be as factual and calm with your reviews. If she had a fault, name it. (but be nice!) Saying that everyone should go see so-and-so because she's the most beautiful woman on the face of the earth and nobody compares is a no-no. If you're consistently honest in your reviews, you'll gain the respect of the board.

But above all, don't get discouraged if you are labelled a shill. It happens to the best of us. Recognize that there will be people who will call you out. Defend your position calmly, and the respect and accolades will follow.

    Question

    Q. I'm out of questions right now. Is there anything else you can suggest to make my life at TERB more enjoyable?

    A. The only thing that really matters is RESPECT. For your fellow TERBites, and for the SP's. Everything else should fall into place.

    Have fun!

    Does this mean....?

Does this mean if we have received an "abbreviation" we can use the abbreviations to write in a review.

But we cant ask about specific "abbreviations" and whether a certain MPA participates in said "abbreviation".

I just wanna be sure I have this right before everyone gets pissed at me.

    Misteree:

Just because LE may be turning a "blind eye" to such activities doesn't affect their illegality. TERB is a business, and as such, if it promotes illegal activities it may end up in legal troubles itself.

I guess the bottom line is that the "fact" that "everyone knows" such and such goes on, we should not relay that info via this board. Make no mistake, LE is aware of TERB, does peruse your postings and uses that information for their investigations.

If you get an offensive PM, forward it to Fred Zed, or a Moderator.

Do not post on the open board these types of tirades. It's just the attention these little weasels are looking for.
