Wife asks about other women

My wife asked me point blank today whether I sleep with other women (while I was driving on the 404!). I said "no". She had a test the other day and the doctor asked about other partners. Now I've only had protected sex, except about 5 years ago. Is there any chance that something could have been dormant that long??

From what I understand -- yes, there is. Chlamydia, for one. Check the Hassle Free Clinic website for more info :

http://www.hasslefreeclinic.org/

There are listings on almost every known sexually transmitted disease, including dormancy estimates and methods of transmission.

Good luck...

Driving down the 404 eh, well, there's a prime situation for a rollover.

Women often will pull this little trick, so you have to be prepared for it when it comes. Try, "you know honey, i would but you are just too much woman for me now"

As far as the disease thing goes, have you ever had any symptoms?

In 91, my ex from University and I got together again for another short but sweet relationship. At the time, she told me that i had given her Chlamydia (spelling) when we were together in University.

Seeing as each of us had only slept with one other person prior to our relationship, i was blown away. I never had any symptoms. She said she didn't blame me, because i probably didn't know i had it.

I still couldn't believe it, but the next day, i went to the STD clinic at Toronto General. The doctor there was slightly amused at my tale and assured me that 95% of the time, males will exhibit symptoms, and that if i had been carrying Chlamydia for all those years, i would have been in pretty bad shape.

Never the less, he gave me the Q tip up the end of the knob treatment.

Not pleasant at all, i much prefered the ultra sound on my balls.

Anyway, it was negative.

I had a great sense of joy when i told my ex that she may have had chlamydia, but she didn't get it from me.

Still if you are edgy about it, why not get a series of tests done to find out for yourself.

The other thing to consider is that women are hardly saints either (except your wife, she is without a doubt faithfull to the core).

You can BET on the following:

It's going to come up again, and probably sooner rather than later, she suspects something.

So you'd better get your ass tested, and work on your presentation.

Did she specifically say her Dr. asked whether she had had other partners or did he ask if you had had other partners or was it just a generic kind of question?

If she had reason to believe she had a problem maybe she was asking you if you'd been playing around as she unsure whether to blame herself or whether could she might be able to blame you.

Now, you say she had a test the other day, but I would ask, why did she get tested?

Did she just take the test the other day (in which case the Dr. would have not likely have had any basis for questioning her about other partners) or was she there to get the results of a previous test?

You've had only ptotected sex with other than your wife. Think now - Did you ever receive BBBJ from an SP or DATY with anyone else, and also DATY with your wife? There are possibilties there too, Not likely but nevertheless possible.

Aside from the "tricks" some people think women may play, keep in mind that Condoms are NOT 100% effective. But as rr_bill mentioned whatr about oral sex. Her on you, or you on her. Possible that an STD was transmitted this way as well.

Here's a direct quote from the Hassle Free website:

"Women and men can have chlamydia without having any symptoms, or you may have vaginal/urethral discharge and/or burning on urination. These symptoms are similar to gonorrhea but may take longer to appear (1 to 6 weeks or longer). Women may also experience heavy periods, painful intercourse and lower abdominal cramping and pain."

Chlamydia has been called, for this reason, the 'silent STD'...

STDs

there are a number of STDs that men can carry for which they remain asymptomatic - the most prevalent is chlamidia (everyne has their own spelling) - not only are you asymptomatic, but you have no problems spreading it to others - it's one of the major causes of PID and infertility in women (as in can remain asymptomatic in them as well)...it's a nasty bug

The best defense is a strong offense.

Given that it is game seven with the Isles tonight:

You should:

1. Deny, deny, then deny again.

2. Look her straight in the eye and say "Don't tell me you gave me the clap again!

3. In a sheepish tone, "Damn, if my dick wasn't so long it wouldn't constantly be laying in the urinal.

4. A la Gary Roberts, give her the Jonnsen and hopefully the resulting brain injury will cause amnesia and she will forget about the whole damn conversation.

5. Buy a Fedora, hike your pants up and move to a condo in Florida 'cause buddy, you aren't seeing anymore of that pussy in this lifetime.

The doctor is in
James T Kirk...

The test for Chlamydia is actually a urine test...the test with the Q-tip is for gonnorhea.

Between a rock and a hard place
Human Papiloma Virus is easily spread and incurable. HPV can go years without manifestation of any kind. It is estimated that 99 percent of the carriers have no idea they have it. Most commonly when it does rear it's head it shows in the form of a minor (benign and operable) displasia (Sp?) in women. Displasias are detected early as they cause steady menstrual bleeding - but not life threatening. Just serious enough to warrant seeking medical attention, and is resolved with an outpatient procedure. To avoid contracting HPV, all gential contact with vascular areas (anus, mouth, genitals) must be avoided.

To sheika and dr. love.

The test for chlamidia in 91 was strickly a q tip, trust me, i remember it well.

In 97 roughly, i had another test for the same thing (negative), cute little chinese girl doing the test.

That time, they did both, q tip and urine.

Either way, i have better ideas for fun than that.

I undergo a full STD screening once a year as part of my annual physical and when I feel it advisable at other times as well. There are always two swab tests, one for gonorrhea and a second for chlamydia plus many tubes of blood plus urine for ? (I know it is a culture for bacteria but never asked what it was meant to find specifically). The swabs, which are physically different, are then placed in different color coded culture tubes with what appears to be a different culture medium in each.

That's really too bad, Iguana. I hope that everything works out. Don't be too fast to assume that your hobbying had anything to do with any of this.

I hope this all works out for you friend iguana,

But, you are in an especially precarious place.

Say for the sake of arguement only, that it turns out that she can not conceive due to her current problems, and you somehow confess, or trip up or whatever regarding any and all extra ciricular activities you may have had.

She will blame you for a fate worse than giving her any STD, regardless of how she may have come by her problem and never forgive you.

Be very careful, i am sure you have not heard the last of this.

Best of luck in all regards.

Iguana,

my heart goes out to you - I've been there (and still am). many women are prone to developing fibrosis - there's a strong possibility it has nothing to do with you hobbying - it's just a lousy and unfortunate coincidence.

if you're feeling guilty that you may be responsible, get some professional help - that way you can confess and deal with the emotions without jeopardizing your relationship

if infertility is an issue, send me a pm and i can give you the names of some Drs who have worked miracles (and have the halos to prove it)

in the meantime, be close to your loved one - let her know how important she is to you, and remind her that you'll alway be there

peace

for testing:
gonorrhea: q tip only
chlamydia: q tip or urine (the urine test for chlamydia only came out several years ago)

just a remainder for those who keep making inquiries for BB

Sorry to hear that - You know that south of the border, in BOS,
Brigham & Women's Hospital has a very good reserach clinic on
fiberoids. Search Harvard's website and see if there is more info.
