Star story

Why? The story was pretty lame. It didn't say anything people didn't know already.

Not for the atory, just getting too much of a pinko rag for me. If only the National Post would go back to its old sports coverage they would get my paid business!!!

Why,

The story was interesting because it was about sex. People always find sex interesting, or if someone leads a train wreck of a life (Makes us feel superior, superior to the girls she worked with (like the author of the peace did) or superior to her clients. It's all bullshit though, she is no better than the women she worked with, maybe worse because it is rather clear that she thought herself superior - she was just working to pay of her "university debt". Please, get a job. If you aren't going to enjoy your job as an escort, better not do it.

All in all, the story was drivel, she give you the stereotype clients / ho's to keep you interested.

My impression was that she would not be a chick i would want to hire. No kissing, no DATY, no digits, minimal contact, double bagged.

Mechanical, why even bother.

If anything, she probably suceeded in screwing herself up for life because now, every time she is with a man, she will probably think about the way she was with her clients.

Who was that chick, Evelyne Lau, or something like that who wrote a book about being a street walker in Vancouver.

All the self absorbed intellectuals were in love with her. But it wasn't her writing they were in love with, it was her story.

She just had the ability to string a sentence together and tell her tale. Now that that has been done (twice i think) you probably won't ever hear from her again. She aint Margret Lawrence.

Sex sells.

The star is a peace of crap period. They have been delivering it free to my house over the last week. It goes right into the blue box. Can't wait till they call this week to ask me how i liked my free taste test.

Well...

The application process for the company was accurate... The picture thing was what they did... They also made you sign a contract stating you were of age, and you were not there for sex basically...

The information on lifers was accurate... For the most part... What she did not tell you was that the women who had been there for 10ish years also floated when they were opening a new location.

The party girls... Well baby it is and was all or nothing and some of us are smart enough to avoid those bookings...

The ones working to support their "baby daddy"... Well you get tonnes of them...

Now tell me what it was that bothered you... The fact that it was honest? Or the fact that it happens too often?

It is a large part of the reason I stayed away from places like that. I knew the type of girls that worked there because I had seen them first hand.

Such is the life some women lead... It angers me that now a lot of people will think and feel that this is sll there is to it... But then again... Even some of the readers on this board think it is how things are... Welcome to reality... You are bound to run across it at some point... All I can say is... I am sorry it happened if it happened to you.

Thank you.

Clarification works wonders.

The thing is that we need to make clear what it is that we object to. Especially when we are already the target of too many watchful eyes...

I don't think it's an issue of the Star begin a bleeding heart rag exactly though I agree that the paper does suck. The Star, like most newspapers for that matter, is not exactly in a healthy state right now. Remember the Sun's quivering gypsy panhandler articles? All they're trying to do is run with something in the hopes that circulation will increase. They've simply gotten on their high horse and decided to ride this one (sorry) for all it's worth. Talking to journo friends has left me with the impression that the editors are grasping. Honderich and co. have picked this particular one because it is easy to follow up, can generate reams of related pieces and, yes, contains sex.
