Demise of Penthouse Mag.

You might have noticed in the paper today, that Penthouse Magazine has stopped publishing after about 30 years. Guccione cited electronic media as the new way to "deliver pornography" and he intends to continue in that media.

Supposedly, he owns one of the largest private apartments in NYC and it is now up for sale as well as his extensive art collection. The article credits him with being a devoted family man... ya, I'll bet!

I knew there was a reason I kept all of those old issues under my mattress...

But the pages will be all stuck together, the good ones at least. Better kept in a hammock.

The doctor is in
The company itself is in dire straits. On the other hand, "Playboy" is thriving.

Hard to say....

I used to buy playboy, but i got sick of the same old same old fake tits and big hair. That sort of living american barbie doll look.

I much prefer something real, like the girl you might see on the subway who has a certain je ne sais quoi, or the girl working behind the cash at the local loblaws who is just the picture of health.

Hefner, though still a god in many ways is a fosil of his time. I stopped buying playboy after they did the 10th spread of pamela lee and the 4th of that wwf chick who ended up suing the wwf (i forget her name).

Big fake tits, big blond hair, same stupid poses. (Except for the women of iceland spread, man, that was hot.)

Penthouse was always racier and the chicks a bit skankier, so i am sure that the internet killed them.

Lately, i had noticed that Penthouse was a shadow of their former selves.

As a horny teen, i always would have picked penthouse over playboy because of the hard core. Then, along came hustler.

Porn is a big industry, there are ba-zillions of players in it. They all can't survive, that's for sure.

I actually enjoyed reading that mag - Still have a copy of the first issue. Too bad it died.
