I read in another thread a comment that Ottawa SC may soon be a thing of the past. Since I in years gone by spent a large part of my life in Ottawa SCs (I was a driver for dancers once for 2.5 years) this really got both my dander up and curiosity flowing right away. I know I vaguely remember reading something on here some time ago but some possible changes in by-laws or something but do not remember the details. Since I am living in Toronto now I don't visit this section of the board very often. I am though so looking forward to a trip to Ottawa sometime this summer or most likely the Balloon Festival in September. A large part of my reason for going is to romp around and visit some of my old stomping grounds. I.E. All the SCs. If their days are numbered though or if things are changed so much that it will not be worth while then maybe I'll head for The Falls instead. So what's up... is it going to be worth it for me to take a five hour train ride or should I just head down the highway a hop skip and a jump to The Falls? Thanks in advance.

The City wants to regulate the VIP rooms. It is before the courts now. It will shift many guys to 'tee hudder side'. Pigales is already renovating downstairs after closing Hotshots.
I guess I'll check in here a couple weeks before heading there. Ottawa is a nice place to visit and all... but truth be known I will be spending most of my time in SCs while I am there. If it's all out in the open VIP areas etc... I may just change my mind. Thanks Guys.
That bylaw was voted and passed but is not applied yet.
Honestly, I don't know how they will enforce it without investing money and, money is something the City of Ottawa lack of these days...
For now, it's on hold. Bar owners don't seems to be in a hurry do do any changes to the VIP sections either. What will they do if nobody comply? That could be interesting!
