My review on Windsor's 'sexwork' situation

czechmate,
I am amazed these places stay open, frankly, but there is a steady supply of new guys from here, and from the U.S. that will go to try it out.
Coolguy
It has to be one of the strangest 'sexwork' situations I am aware of. I actually have had to transit back and forth from Toronto to Windsor for work reasons, for several years, and I have had to relocate for extended stays at times, several weeks long, so I am familiar with the city, and in some sense I actually like it.
I am sucker for cities and like the view of Detroit's skyline. From where I work, I can actually see half of the Ren Cen and Commerica Center building. In the summer the walk from the Ambassador bridge to the Casino is wonderful, nice landscaping and and art work- very nice improvement from twenty years ago when I went to u of Windsor. Going to Detroit for a Tiger game, College hockey or football via the Tunnel Bus makes trips into Detroit easy and convenient. I like Detroit, it actually has a very different feel and vibe than T.O. because of the rich southern USA immigration; Detroiters, mostly black but even whites, seem to have a strong sense of their roots and religion; their food, manners, and hospitality/friendliness has always surprised me and asuaged any fear of going to Detroit.
But, and it is a big but, it is still a very gritty, decayed, racially divided American city and Windsor's downtown at first glance makes one think Windsor is a crazy, Tijuana type, wild, party place, especially because all of these American kids lining up along Oulette to get into some stinking dance club. The strip clubs are prominent and the massage parlours seem to be on every corner downtown, and the stories I heard, just around, as eavesdrops, sort of speak, led me to believe the city actually had a real 'social' problem because there was so much US cash flooding the Casino and d/t area that sex work was plenty and the strip clubs were wild.
But when I finally got around to checking things out, I was bored- and not bored stiff. The strip clubs are so tame compared to Toronto. They seem to have an odd practice of dumb ass kids sticking cash in their mouth and lying on stage and the dancer dipping down to give the loser a look, but there still is NO vip, at least nothing private or semi-private, and that is why I go to strip clubs. Excuse me if that makes me a dirty old man, but I don't go to look. To me that's like going to the dealership for a test drive and just looking at the showroom model. As I wrote above, the MP seem to be operating under some false pretenses. I really have begun to think there may actually be a 'conspiracy of silence' going on in Windsor, among locals, police, and politicians, that allows the tourists to think they will get more than they think. How can so many places operate in the open, I used to think, but now I think they operate in the open because they actually do obey the law, unlike Toronto parlours who may have licenses but still offer rub & tug at the minimum.
The only other explanation is that Toronto is just wilder- not just compared to Windsor, but for Detroit and many US cities. Perhaps. After all, you cannot even get full nude dancing in Michigan, all Detroit has is topless joints when they serve booze. Maybe there are Americans who think getting a crappy rub by a teeny tot in a bikini top is worth the dead presidents. However, I think the women who work in these places might be in as much or even more danger of being threatened or manhandled by guys who want what they think they paid for or their money back for what they did not get. The owners are possibly decieving gullible girls into thinking everything is safe and secure. I wonder aloud- maybe someone can respond- is there a lot of turn over of girls? If people read 'Toronto Massage Parlours' on TERB, it seems like the same MP/MPA get reviewed often because they work for years at the same place. To be honest, I am not a big MP customer- I am not against it, different strokes for different folks. In fact the first time I went to a MP was because a stripper I used to know shifted to the 'less hustle' of a MP. I have been to three or four in TO, and one in Windsor, but it seems like there is a con going on down there.
