Is $230.00/hour too much to pay for the airport area?

That price is pretty standard for that location... Average is 230-300... Most hit the 250 mark...

The reason I ask
is because some agencies are below that range and some are higher. I mean it is a spot where the work orders must be high. So should there not be a special? I would think there would be. Why don't agencies offer better rates for that area?

One reason might be...
The cost of drivers stays the same... And the girls cut is the same... And the advertising rates are the same... And the person on the phones makes the same...
Oh wait you wanted to know why they don't offer better rates correct? The overhead would not change... Therefore the cost would stay the same... While the only one who would take a cut would be?
I don't know very many women, drivers, advertisers, or receptionists who would take the cut... Would you?

G.T.A rates would be nice in the airport area. I mean it's easy to get to for drivers. I just always feel like I'm getting ripped off in the airport area.

If you don't like it go with someone who...
Charges the same... Ask for Toronto rates... Then ask for Airport rates... If it is not something you like... Or agree with... Say something...
Mind you I know there are some independants who charge the same no matter where the booking is in the GTA...

see that makes sense to me business-wise. If you know that clients will pay 250, why would you charge 225 because he's closer? charge the same and you make more money for the closer calls! It's good for the clients that you knock local guys price down, I'm just saying it's not most logical business decision.Jenn_angel said:

that makes the most sense. Agencies should at least create the illusion of paying close to the same for the airport. It would even things out all over.
I say this because there are places in Etobicoke that I find to be tougher to get to than the Airport so agencies should charge accordingly.

I was under the impression that the rate corresponded to the distance between the agency and the client's location. I.e.(the further away one is dictates that the driver must spend more time/gas to reach the client's location - or in the case of ladies who take cabs, increased fare.)
Maybe I'm way off base, but if you look at some of the reputable agencies websites, you will see that they advertise about four different rates for four different areas.

That's true.
Out of all the agencies I've used since being in Toronto, only one had an honest, fair pay structure in my opinion. (and the best SP I've seen). And by lurking around on the board they are probably the smallest and least known. So if the bigger, richer agencies have rates on a lop side, what does that tell you?

I think if the SP drives or not should reflect in the rate. Gas to the airport is less then gas to Mimico that's for sure.
