And could there be a connection between the American invasion of Iraq, the granting of no bid contracts to American companies (hello Haliburton!) and who the VP of the United States is? Naahhh... impossible.

You can't suck and blow at the same time Langeweile.

What's wrong with "no bid contracts"? Why should we let the rest of the crybabies make money on our blood?

BTW..oh yes I can....

It should be of note that the money for those contracts came from the American taxpayer. Is it you're assertion that the US went to war to fund Halliburton? dons tin-foil hat and waits for reply

No, it's my assertion that American policy in the region was determined to a large degree but its economic interests. Which is exactly what Langeweile is contending the French policy is based on.

As for Haliburton, I think you may wanna go bone up on some fine Alcan foil for what will eventually come out about them (they have a fleet of black helicopters you know)

I was hoping that this wasn't the question, but i think it is.

This question falls in the same realm of Area 51, JFK assasination theories and the "Elvis is still alive" story.
They are all nonsense.
Who in their right mind would believe that the reason we are at war is because of Haliburton?Oh please give me a break. Even you must have a hard time believing this.

I don't think America went to war because Halliburton needed to make money langeweile. I do think that because of Haliburton's connections they were able to get the contracts they wanted after the war, just as Elf most likely got the contracts they wanted because of their governments position in the Oil For Food program.

This is the point that yyc was trying to make in my opinion. You critized Elf for doing the same thing Haliburton was doing. All governments protect their own self interests Langeweile.

THat was part of the point I was making - my larger point was that American economic interests played a role in their decision to invade Iraq. Period. So why do we criticize the French who, after all have no word for entrepreneur according to its linguistically challenged Head of State, for doing the same thing? You know the reason it's done? Because what is good for America is not good for everyone else.
