Strip Clubs: $20 vs $10 Dances in VIP

There have been a lot of comments in the strip club review section about $10 versus $20 dances in the VIP, and some people believe that the dancers would make more money if dances cost $10 in the VIP. I don’t think so.

Most dancers are in the strip club for about 6-7 hours. The dancers, who are on schedule, dance on stage 2 to 3 times during their shift. So most dancers can spend about 5 hours talking to customers and dancing for them.

In some clubs, e.g., FYEO, Landing Strip and Airport Strip, hourly rates of $200/h are available in the VIP. Dancers could earn $1000 if they get customers for the entire shift. Note that you can negotiate a rate for the entire shift, and spend less than $1000 on one dancer. If the cost of a dance in the VIP were $10, the hourly rate would likely be $100. Dancers could earn $500 if they get customers for the entire shift.

From my experience at FYEO, Landing Strip and Airport Strip, the dancers typically spend 15 minutes sitting with other dancers or walking around looking for interested customers, 15 to 30 minutes talking to customers before dancing, and doing 3 dances for a customer. On average, the dancers do 2 to 6 dances per hour. At $20/dance, the dancers typically earn from $200 to $600 during a shift. If the cost of dances were $10, the customers may get 5 to 6 dances, but would likely still get 3 dances. The dancers may be more successful and do up to 12 dances per hour. The dancers could typically earn from $150 to $600 during a shift.

Would dancers earn more at $10 per dance in the VIP for just dancing (i.e., no extras and a Clean club)?

I think that if clubs went back to 10 dollar dances, I think the average dancer would make more money, but the most popular dancers would make a less (so it will never happen). Me personally I wont get a dance for just one song, I do at least 2 usually 3, at 20 a song there have been a lot of girls who I kinda wanted to get a dance from but I just didn't find them worth it, at 20 for 2 songs instead of 40 I would have. For the girls I get LD's from anyway I'd probably get 5 dances instead of 3 just to go back and watch the show look around a little and such, and that costs her 10 bucks. Now thats not a lot, but assuming I'm an average client, that would add up. So knocking down the price a bit would spread the wealth more, but thats not good for the best girls.

Dance Prices

I used to spend ALOT more at SC's than I do now. I guess it kinda of boils down to preceived value for for dollar spent and what other "happiness" can be purchased for the same $$$ both adult entertainment wise and otherwise. I certainly go far less often and am extremely particular about who gets my business than before. Each visit is more of a special splurge than a weekly routine.
I too would likely be more adventurous when it comes to taking a couple of dances with a new lady if the there were less at risk. Instead I go less and tend to stick to the tried and true known quantities.
I think we all would agree that it is far easier to p**s money away when it is done in small portions here and there. I'm sure that many of us would go clubing more, spend more time in the VIP, when we do, and end up less liquid in the long haul if dance prices were lower.
Think about many of the products on the market such as VCR's and DVD players that start selling like hotcakes once some magical "price point" is reached. I guess for me I've come to realize that $20 is over the personal price point that would cause me to be more of a regular LDer.
I think the ladies would be busier, spend alot less boring time waiting for business and ultimately make more $$$ if dance prices were more reasonable.

If the girls would make more money or not I don’t know but here’s my 2 cents.
With all respect due to the dancers… it’s just not worth it to me to pay $20 for a simple dance. I agree with spector $20 is just over the price point I am willing to spend for said service or product. Even more so when your taking a risk and may be just getting air. I always negotiate. Most times I find if dancer is friendly etc… they will bend a little. (No pun intended) As for $120. /hr. in VIP: No way! Everybody to their own thing… but for me I am board after 3 to 4 dances. I am ready to go to the next level at that point and we know in a SC that is not possible (in most cases). Occasionally there are exceptions of course. Most of ‘em are not in GTA though. Try NF or Ottawa and Quebec.

Another factor that may come into play with $10 dances is that there would probably more customers who just may end up spending more cash on dances. As a result, however, some clubs may find that they do not have enough dancers to accommodate this increase in traffic, which would result in having to hire more dancers. The final result is that more money would be spent by customers on dances but it would be spent on more dancers, who on average may not make any more per shift. The club, as well as the waitresses, I'm sure, would benefit greatly from the increase in sale of alcohol generated by increased traffic.

End result is that clubs and wait staff benefit, customers benefit from cheaper dances, more selection and more competition among dancers, but the dancers themselves may not benefit.

My two cents..

IF $10 dances returned*, I would not be as "selective" with the VIP room trips. It's easier to drop a ten-spot on a good-looking dancer to see what she's like than to have to drop a 20. Usually (and I use this term loosely, damn ATM's), I have a set budget for my evening's activities, so I will not spend more (necessarily).

If anything, I think $10 dances would signal a resurgence in VIP activity (good for the girls). If I have $100 for the night, I'll much easier rush in to the VIP with the first girl who suits my fancy. At $20 per, you've eaten up 1/5 of your fun money for the night. I remember when ALL dances were $10, and the SC experience was roughly twice the fun.

People would also probably be more likely to go back to the SC's if the dances were cheaper. A few guys I know don't go anymore just because of the price increase!

And an increase in traffic will help all those involved in the SC industry. Dancers, waitresses and owners alike.

* with similar (or better) mileage, of course.

If anything, I think $10 dances would signal a resurgence in VIP activity (good for the girls). .

Goober hit it on the head. In the days of HOL2, guys used to be lined up 20 deep to get into the club (any other club that this happens at other than BR who create lineups to look busy?). The club is so much busier with the $10 dances from number of patrons as well as collecting more VIP covers.

As Goober says, I would not be nearly as selective with getting dances. When they had $10 at HOL2, I would spend about $300 a week on dances. Over the past 3 weeks at the cab trio and a couple of other clubs, I haven't spent a cent.

It's all relative, the much better deal of spending $60 total for a topless massage, $100 for a bodyslide, $140 for an incall, or $200 for an hour with an escort make the $20 dance a huge rip off.

I'm sure the rest of you regular clubbers have also noticed in recent months the increase of dancers whining about how little money they have and using the sympathy method to get your money. Not from this Duck! It's about value to me and right now lap dances is not the value. Think girls, you are pricing yourself out of the market just like the Toyota Supra did.

I have lots more to say but I think I've rambled long enough here.

I was in the HOL on the Queensway tonight (tuesday mar 26)

I hadn't been there in probably a year or so due to the complete waste of time it had been over the last few outings.

I must say, the women tonight were beautiful. A major improvement. They also appear to have done some more renovating. I remember about 7 or so years ago when the house was a good value for your money, then it really seemed to go downhill fast.

Then i used to go up to Wagg, but now, i can't stand that place any more either. Biker atmosphere, lower grade chicks, air dances, and those two obnoxious pricks who call themselves DJ's. Get me out.

I would say 80 percent of those women on stage tonight at the HOL were real lookers. There was one asian girl with an au-natural bush which i haven't seen in many a moon. I found myself getting turned on looking at it. Maybe because either the shaved or landing strip is so common place these days, the sight of a nice feminine hairy triangle caught my attention. Big time. I was dying to sniff her bush.

To the issue of lap dancing. The women were hitting as usual looking for business, but i did not partake whatsoever. I was tempted yes, but i held my ground.

I too do not consider the $20.00 air dance, plus admission to the VIP room value for your money.

I like many others have discovered that for roughly a 100 bucks i can get a full nude reverse at just about any massage parlour and truly get something for my money.

With the proliferation of MP's these days, there is little chance of me parting with 100 bucks at a SC for rougly 20 minutes of what amounts to frustration only.

At 10, i might go for it, but 20, never, it's just not worth it.

The previous poster who used the Toyota Supra analogy has hit the nail right on the perverbial head. They have pretty much priced themselves out of the market. Add in some of the bad attitude you will encounter and it's a given. No thanks.

I used to hang out at SCs a fair bit - like twice a week. Each time I'd enjoy the sights, drink the beer and end up getting 10+ dances from the ladies.

Then I realized that I was spending well in excess of $200 per night. Out of curiosity I picked up the Yellow Pages (Internet still in infancy at this point) and called a few agencies at random. I got prices ranging from $160 to $200 for the hour.

So the choice was getting horny for $200 or getting satisfied for the same.

I've only been to a SC 3 or 4 times since.

Shut down VIP rooms.

Many years ago in Mississauga the rule was you had to be able to see the stage from the VIP. That seems to have gone by the board but maybe that is what they have in mind. I guess the boys in blue know that people don't go to the VIP for the nice seats!!

dances

I was at Exotica last night, they had some beautiful talent there including the waitresses!!they have $10 dances in the back with a $10 fee for V.I.P .
I can remeber the ole $5 days at the ole Mississauga Tavern when the dancer would bring her little wooden box to your table, lol,it was nice to find a good spot in the back corner with your fav dancer, now that $20 dances have come in I never get them anymore!, just to expensive and not worth the cash.I would rather just watch the stage show then have a lovely lady visit !much rather have an hour of real fun!(not torture)with a fav SP.
I actually find dances kind of torturess,I need the whole package!
