writing about Paul Martin and the boys and girls is like trying to find something interesting to describe at an Accountant's Convention...papasmerf said:Why do you think it is that most political threads on a Canadian board are about Americans??????
Ummm...That'd be because so many Canadians are angry at the US because of their murderous foreign policy. Most Canadians think the US is responsible for a great deal of needless suffering and death in Iraq. And in Viet Nam before that. So the US ranks very high on our list of things to complain about. If you'd stayed isolationist since Viet Nam, you would probably not be asking this question because we'd be complaining about something else.papasmerf said:Why do you think it is that most political threads on a Canadian board are about Americans??????
I suggest you start a new thread and let's see what happens. Anyone hijacking it to a ME or US thread will be ignored...let's go.antaeus said:US and Middle East too. Always repeated opinions, ideas, 'sources and facts' about US and ME: anyone notice in the past ~month alot of linked articles. This forum has become disappointing.
Political forum on other different genre board people start ROW (rest of world) threads but they quickly die off to same US and ME bickering.

Well....It's a Canadian board, populated by quite a few Canadians who tend to express their Canadian opinions about "Politics & International Affairs". Is this a trick question or something?papasmerf said:Fine but what the hell does that have to do with Canada?
I agree it is a nice place to live, especially for me, since I am an outdoor type of guy.islandboy said:very true. it is still a wonderful place to live and work.

Just imagine all the stuff they write about us on those U.S. boards! I mean, they're probably doing nothing but slagging Paul Martin for his stand on softwood lumber, quoting endless stream of statistics about transfer payments and pondering the future of Air Canada. And, you just know, that there's one guy on a board down there who calls us KKKanada.MrLuvr said:And be glad that this can be discussed on a Canadian board.
Having these kinds of Anti American discussions on an American board will probably bring Bush's goons to your door.
It should be called Homeland Insecurity.
Usually it's Americans who start them, as far as I can make out to provoke criticism they can label as anti-Americanism. It's much easier, I'm sure, than actually dealing with the botch America continues to make both of world politics, and ensuring the safety, welfare and prosperity of its citizens at home.papasmerf said:Why do you think it is that most political threads on a Canadian board are about Americans??????
We all can't be as exciting as you OTB. Oh yay do show us the way.onthebottom said:Canadians define themselves by their relationship with the US - they're so quiet we sometimes forget they're up there. Again, they're lucky - boring but lucky.
