There was an ad in the Sun Times before Christmas re a new "aromatherapy" massage in Owen Sound. The name was Golden Touch. I've lost the ad that had a phone number.
Anybody out there have more info?

Has anybody tried it.
If not, I may take one for the team next time I'm up that way.

I just got back home after driving through the rain.
Here's the poop.
Rooms are nice but there is no shower yet.
Room fee is $40 for 30 min $60 for an hour.
Hours are 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. (close early so the drunks from Owen Sound's famous street fight bars won't show up)
Tips range up to $100 for what supposed to be a nude reverse. The receptionist said "tips up to $100 no sex no oral.
OK I can live with that
I wanted an hour but since there was only one attendant on duty (Lindsay from Taj Majal in Kitchener) I could only get 30 mins.
She gave a nice massage working on my lower back which was great since I over did the skiing a Blue Mt yesterday.
The NR meant that she left her thong on.
Not really a NR in my book
Good conversation, apparently (this part gets a bit confusing) the owners who are related to the owners of the Taj in Kitchener are going to add showers (non there right now). But a few minutes later the attendant (Lindsay) commented that the location will change since they are too close to a residential area according to Owen Sound bylaw.
My question is, why would someone spend $ on setting up nice rooms (each room has a different theme, mine had a low bed with lots of mirrors) without first checking local bylaws.
Lindsay only works there on occasion and said that today was her last day. (Commute to KW is too far).
There are two regulars Angel (who was supposed to be there but didn't show up) and Carolyn whom Lindsay referred to as being "more open minded than I am"
The session began at 1:10 and ended at !:30 Hmmmm that's only 20 min for what was supposed to be a 30 min session.
If you live in the area its the only show in town, but not worth the drive up from the city.

I'd be interested in mileage from one of the other attendants.

Just wondering if anyone has any further reviews on the Sound? Sounds a bit pricey if not a full NR. However, it is closer for me to travel rather than going to the City.

OS City Council freezes new adult parlours

Story in the Sun Times today saying that a new emergency bylaw, without any public consultation, has put a freeze on any new adult businesses in the city - says that the police and bylaw officers have been 'harrassing' the Golden Touch (according to the owners) - i can believe it

I'm kicking my self for waiting - drove by the spa tonight at about 7pm and there was a closed sign on the door - also a smaller piece of paper - didnt bother to get out and read that - i can just imagine what it says

too many old (not necessarily chronilogically but attitudnally) people in town - what a bunch of fuddy-duddies

The fact is... the city didn't even have a bylaw in place. The owners kept going to city hall asking where they could locate their business and all they received in return was "dirty looks" and no answer at all. The owners got sick of waiting for the city to tell them where they could locate and just picked a spot (which their real esatate agent said would be ok).

After Golden Touch opened, then the city finally acted and quickly called public meetings to put the bylaw in place (one meeting was called with less then 24 hours notice). This is how Owen Sound council always works. Reactionary... never pro-active. They wonder why Owen Sound has never grown past 20,000 people.. it's because the city makes it impossible for almost any new business to open up. Even Walmart and Home Depot had to fight for years to get here.

Actually, there is a bylaw in place. MP's are allowed in any area zoned industrial. Not a good place for business. The owners, with a little research, could have found this out as I did.
However, it doesn't change the fact that the place is closed.
I hinted at this in my review.
