Yushchenko poisoning

Doctors in Austria confirm Ukrainian opposition candidate Viktor Yushchenko was poisoned by dioxin, one of the most potent toxins known. The difference in his appearance now to how he looked a few months ago is startling. I feel for the people of the Ukraine, as I have a hard time believing the next election will bring any more resolution then the first. And I thought that elections here in the US could get nasty.

The US & Ukraine Elections

The big difference is we are so much more refined in our election methods in the US where we use Diebold 'unverifiable computerized voting machines' rather than dioxin to insure the vote goes the way the plutocrats running the US want it to go. The Russians are more crude in the way they 'rig' the vote over there compared to the slick way it's done by the GOP & Diebold over here.

An interesting article on that point follows:

I believe it was soup.

And I believe they think it was 'adminstered' by a 'third party'.

I can't believe that he did not taste the stuff if it was indeed in the soup. Apparently it has a metallic taste and even his wife siad she tased it on his lips when she kissed him that evening. Really strange.

She said she tasted something metallic on his lips but I tend to agree that it is kind of a convenient and she seems to know how to deal with the media, so.........

By the way, is the effects of the poison reversible? His face is just a mess. I hope for his sake that he can look like he did before the attempt on his life.

Apparently they are saying that he should make a full recovery though it may take some time but he still faces the risk of cancer.

As I understand it, if the poison had been suspended in fat, such as in a cream soup, he wouldn't necessarily have noticed. Remember, considering how toxic dioxin is, we're talking parts per million. It wouldn't take much. Doctors are saying it may take two years for his skin to return to normal, if then. No one seems to know the long term effects of a one time, massive exposure.

This whole thing is BS. He appears to have a case of chronic symptoms or bad zits. His doctor is the one who prepared the doses, for ingestion over a period of time. Had someone wanted to off him with dioxin, it would have been exceedingly easy to do so - in fact, it would have been exceedingly difficult to not kill him. What an election stunt there, Mr. Sympathy

Yeah, it was all a big ruse.

Wow.
Frightening.

Tell me, how easy is it to kill someone with dioxin? You an international assassin? LOL

Let me get this straight. You're suggesting that Yushchenko decided the way to win the election was to get his doctor to give him controlled doses of one of the most powerful toxins on earth, badly disfiguring his face, and putting his life and future health at serious risk, all in a bid to try and make himself more appealing to the Ukrainian electorate? Tell me you're joking.

I rather fake a shooting attempt and take a bullet than turn my face into anything like Yushenko's mug.
His face was on yesterday's Star and I could barely look at that mess because it was so disturbing.

It is possible. Dioxin is a systemic, therefore if you were to even touch it, it would be possible to taste it moments later.

I believe they suspect a one time exposure, considering how quickly his condition changed. His blood levels were a thousand times over what is called a "normal" level. I don't think most people realize how little dioxin would be needed. Toxic levels of dioxin are measured in picograms, or more plainly, trillionths of a gram.
