How do I get a job like that?

Where do I stand in line to apply for a right-wing blowhard position? Obviously, I don't need to be educated. Hey, I can spout a Coulter-like "Canada is lucky to be on the same continent as we" and "Only the worst Americans go to Canada", and the Carleson-like "Any Canadian with ambition moves to the United States" and "Of course, we exploit your natural resources!"

Just make up some sh*t about how the US is the best, the biggest, the baddest etc etc and how Canada is like Honduras (but less interesting, according to bowtied Tucker) and weak and measly and all that.

Hey... I could write a book filled with that stuff! It doesn't even have to be true! And I could make a heap of dough!! I don't even need a fact-checker!!

whaddyamean, it's been done? Oh... right... Limbaugh... I forgot... oh sh*t

The Fox News channel has some of the worst news commentators. It’s news for the low class. That dumb blonde is obviously very uneducated about Canada. She makes a comment that “They speak French … “But I like the English speaking ones so that goes to show you. When I traveled down South some of the people down there had no idea where Canada was even at and the ones that knew something though we all spoke French and lived in Igloos.

The Fox News channel was recently approved by our own CRTC for broadcast into Canada on Cable and satellite. God only knows why they approved this trashy, biased, pro Bush channel.

That was pretty funny. Although the blonde and Tucker were trying to put down Canada, they just came across as the dumb, ignorant, hostile, ugly Americans that they are.

No skin off my back. You know someone's bad when they make Parrish look good...

I thought it was a hoot! Ann Coulter's a watered-down version of our own Mark Steyn but she often has something interesting to say. As for Tucker Carlson, he's a master at sticking the needle in just to get a reaction and whether or not he believes in what he's saying is often beside the point. Canada's getting a lot of attention in the US (and around the world) these days. Unfortunately, it's mostly for the wrong reasons.

1) Someone really sholud go down to the States and put their proverbial horseshoe up Tucker's ass... it'll be easy to see cause he's usually bent over showing it to the world as he slurps on GWB.
2) And please, if there's a God, let Ann Coulter forget to look the "right" way before she crosses the street... hopefully some SUV will take care of her.

I have to tolerate this arrogance when I go to lunch every day. The hubris is revolting. What a sad commentary on what should be intelligent, educated commentators. Their ignorance exposes them for what they are - insensitive phonies.
"What a sad commentary on what should be intelligent, educated commentators."

With all due respect DQ, I beg to differ.

I saw the clip as half-needle, half-truth, done in a way that only "intelligent, educated commentators" are capable of.

Do you ever get to watch CBC News and/or the Mother-Corp’s political documentaries?

Its anchors/hosts are unfailingly "intelligent, educated commentators" but, Jaysus Murphy, do they ever lack one journalistic attribute you didn’t mention: Balance.

The stuff the clip covers, much of it tongue-in-cheek, is seen daily on the CBC - but from an opposite and humourless perspective.

So much so that many Canadians would like to see the Corp's funding capped, if not cut and/or eliminated entirely.

One final word: regardless of one’s opinion of Coulter or Carlson, both were dead-on about one thing – the sorry, sorry state of Canada’s military, our inability to defend ourselves and our sovereignty, and our ritual mocking of those that do – the United States of America.

Shame on us.

Ya know, for all the angst and hand-wringing about the perceived lack of balance from the CBC, I can never recall anywhere, anyone, actually pointing to a specific example.

With the exception of commentators (on both sides of the political spectrum), I'd actually like to see a verified example of this perceived left-leaning CBC.

Where? When? Who said what? In what context?

Show me.

Mexico
Iceland
Greenland
Honduras
Guatemala
Costa Rica ( actually has no standing army)
Nicaragua
Panama
