Well, since I am believer in democracy, if the wishes of the majority is to welcome GWB, rather than protest, then so be it. 5000 or 15,000 is hardly a showing. Very sad and pathetic.

I thought it was a pretty good turnout, frankly.
Would you have preferred 100,000? What?

15,000 would have been a huge protest. Have you ever been in a crowd with that many people?

I thought the proceedings, though not boisterous or exuberant, were dignified and thoughtful. The candlelight vigil was a nice touch.

I sometimes think people believe a protest isn't successful unless there's some kind of violence.

The war in Iraq is not about freedom for the Iraqi people, (there are hundred's of dictaitors in the world and the Us isn't at war with them)
The war wasn't about weapon of mass destruction(we all know how many of those where found)
This was about oil and the american's need to control the supplie.

I disagree with the conclusion, but agree with all the premises.

I don't *entirely* disagree, but certainly oil was, at best, a very tangential concern.

papasmerf, can you provide me with *factual, substantiated* evidence that GWB hasn't lied about Iraq? That it had nothing to do with US security or WMDs or terrorists?
Until then, you're just farting in the wind.
You can't PROVE to me he hasn't lied to the American public.
(To turn your own ridiculous argument against you.)

I said before and I will say agin I will not argue the point as if the war in Iraq was correct or not.

Reality is We are there and the troops deserve support.

You keep trying to goat me into this arguement. Why not give it up?

BTW rumper what country are you from?

Who's not supporting the troops? I'd rather support the troops BY NOT SENDING THEM TO WAR.
Stop asking for unequivocal, unchallengeable proof when you're not prepared to present any yourself.

Goat.

I gotta admit... Bush definately has some charm. That might be all he's got but he does have that southern easygoing charm and self-depricating attitude that make people like him. I guess for someone who takes such a beating from everyone from Carolyn Parrish, Jon Stewart to Al Franken it pays to have a sense of humor. If Kerry had some maybe he'd be in office right now.

If Kerry had a pulse he would have won. The guy was so boring that I thought he was dead...

Even thou the US had no right to invade Iraq, to pull out would only cause greater trouble. If the Us where to pull out today the country would fall into civil war, then the real trouble will begin.
Now that they are there they have a duty to stay regardless of the cost in cash and troops untill the country is stable.
