Is Alfonso Gagliano a made man?

I heard this earlier and wasn't all that surprised. Not hard to imagine Cretin using criminals.

..at that level there is no real difference between criminal and not for most of them.

I say there's a big difference. If a politician is corrupt, but steals quietly he may get away with it. And all that was lost in the long run was money. Having a government high up with close ties to active organized crime, active organized crime with potential interests in shaping State policy is very frightening.

He's a criminal but he's a criminal who works for himself.
If the guy was mobbed up; he would have to be one of the most clever and intelligent mob guys ever to pull of a stunt like that. He would have to be able to stay off the radar of American and Canadian law enforcement and I don't think that's possible when you enter the public world of Canadian politics.

I think it is unlikely. There must be better people to recruit than Alfonso Gagliano. They may very well have bribed him, though.

Well, the member's public bbq was open to all. The bikers may have supported the MP's position, or perhaps just attended for free food. It was their right to be there. Remember that until the jury says guilty bikers enjoy their vote. Being shady != convict.

I remember seeing an article of Alberta Premier Ralph Klein drinking at a Hell Angel's Biker Bar. Though he was so hammered he might not have known that he was hanging out with the Hell Angels.
