Should you offer anything to a turn away girl? Even if she is a Taxi Indie?

I had a similar situation described in a previous thread below. I had booked with a lady named Paige that advertises in the Toronto Sun. She has a flattering description of herself. California Dream Babe, Hard body, Bla,bla, bla. Once she showed up to my apartment it was quite apparent that she lied about everything including her age. She was at least 15 years older then what she said. I hesitated for about 5 minutes and then I said as politely as possible, you are not what you said you were. I'm sorry I can't go through with our session. She looked like she was about to cry. I felt horrible. However I didn't offer to pay her cab like someone else said they would. My train of thought is why should I? If you lie you loose. Plain and simple. On a more interesting note. I was feeling bad until I booked with Alanna from www.aperfectladyescorts.com and she was exactly what they said she was. Young and a whole lot of fun.

My question is, if you are unsatisfied with the way the girl looks based on the description of her and then faced with the harsh reality of her lying, is it so wrong to not offer any compensation cash? Even if she is an Indie?

If she lies, she leaves with nothing.

If anything, she should be paying you for wasting your time.

Having said that, I find that they will try to embarrass/outlast/shame you into paying a $50 cancellation fee.

Don't do it. Be strong. If you pay you reward them for trying to rip you off.

I agree.

But the Indie I turned away took a cab and she made me feel a little bad. But you are right. Why pay anything? And do most agencies charge for this kind of thing?

I see what you mean.

However to take it to such an extreme like that by giving a false description is not right by any means. So why should I pay for anything? I was more than in the mood for company and I just could not see myself being attracted to this lady. Thank god Alanna was able to fix it for me and make it all better, because that same money ended up going to her.

I agree with you.

Some more sympathy on my part would not have been bad. However I'm not sympathic in general. I wish I was. I'd probably have more friends that way he,he. How often do you think people still pay a cacellation fee?

Toonie or Bus Ticket

If the description was WAY off and she was in fact 15 years older and such a turn off you could not deal with it. Give her a bus ticket or a toonie and tell her she's lucky to get that. Pleeeeese. Some of these girls do this totally on purpose figuring they are dealing with really horny guys who are totally hard up and your thinking with the wrong head so they will not be turned away. They thrive on it. We have to give these ladies a message. They are bad for the industry as a whole. Not Good. Same for Bait and Switch agencies or agencies that coaches their ladies to do 20-min hours. If I had my way they all would be out of biz yesterday.
Honesty is best policy. There is a market target for older ladies. So just be honest. Look at all the ads in the papers. Older is Better. Sexy @ 50. etc. They are all making money. So why lie?

There seem too be a few issues being mixed into this thread:

1) An SP is lying (as in false advertising) -- in which case I've walked away. In this case my attitude is that the SP's loss is deserved since she's more-or-less responsible for the claims.

2) An agency is lying -- in which case I've generally given $20-50 to the lady (privately, and only if that possibility exists) but _never_ anything to the agency or driver. My feeling on this is that the agency has wasted the girl's time too and, well, it isn't the SP's fault necessarily since the agency probably didn't tell her anything's up either.

3) My expectations are not met (assuming what I've been told is basically true) -- in which case I'll give the SP up to $50-100. This situation has arisen twice in a lifetime and it is simply the case that _I_ "changed my mind" after effectively having arrived at a "deal". It seems unfair to not pay her if that's the case since, to me, it is like trying to get your money back on a DVD after you've opened it and watched half of it.

Interesting Question.....

1. Always check TERB to get the low down.

2. Ask her if she has a website to check out some photos.

3. If she doesn't why not just ask her to email you a photo.

Everyone has a hotmail address, so that is fine. If she says she doesn't have a computer, tell her to go to the library and use theirs. Of course this assumes she has a digital photo.

Giving her cab fair was fair IF she totally lied.

A woman can describe herself totally accurately, just you don't picture what you get.

Hence the email photo thing.

Saves the hassle.

If she can't email you a photo, and you still go for it, you are more on the hook.

Personally, if no good TERB reviews are out there, and no photo, i wouldn't chance it.

Let's face it there are a lot of "less than desireable" women in this trade, and then there are the ones who you want.

It's your money.

Cab fare under the situation described was fair enough, next time, avoid the hassle.

All I know is that if I am going to advertise myself as a busty, blonde bombshell I better be one!!! Her ad definitely painted a mental image that she did not live up to.

Why would I read about a brand new sportscar and show up to find a fifteen year old pickup with no headlights??? Would I pay for what I didn't want.....never...

There is something for everyone. There are 200 lb women in the business, pregnant women, skinny women, small breasted, large breasted, all nationalities, from "just turned 18" to 'sexy and sixty" Advertised. If you are going to advertise and sell a service (cuz that's what it is) Then you should be honest -especially about your appearance.

on the other hand....

what if as an indie you make an appt with a gentleman via email or phone and then on your arrival and entering conversation with this man discover quickly that he is not what HE said he was- ie
6' (really 5'6") 200lb (really 140lb), owns his own business and house(lives in a trailer and is on the dole), has a degree( cant even count),age 35(really 65).
Does the girl, stay, leave -explaining the discrepancy politely-,

I ran into this once and actually paid the gentleman the $$ for his hotel room, arranged for another escort, shook hands and left.
It felt like the right thing to do at the time.

I still feel I should not pay a thing.

It is interesting to note this type of thing is a 2 sided coin. On one side some guys seem to be courteous in a sense that they would accommodate a cancellation by offering a return fare(for taxi). On the other side it seems as though some guys do not feel entitled to pay a single thing if in fact the lady lied. I'm still representing the cheaper side of things. I feel I should not pay anything if a lady lied. Plain and simple.

Classy move on your part to actually give HIM some money Samantha, but I guess that's one of the reasons why you have such a good reputation.
I wonder, though, if you would actually walk away from an appointment if the client didn't match up to his physical description, but maybe it had more to do with a hygiene or safety issue.
Bottom line is that the woman should have the option to walk away from an appointment, same as the client does, but should treat the client the same way she would expect to be treated in that situation, as indeed you did. I suspect, however, that it would be easier for an indie to do that than an agency girl, depending on the agency of course.
