Of course they walked out on this douche bag, so would I.
Justin Trudeau had a harder than expected time keeping the attention of a small gym in Saskatoon.
The prime minister participated in a town hall at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Saskatoon Campus, but interestingly enough it seems he could not keep the attention of the room.
What started out as a fairly full room rapidly descended into a sad half full gymnasium.
A fairly clear sign that the Liberal party will likely continue to have problems out west, especially in provinces like Saskatchewan and Alberta who are the clearest hit from the governments poor handling of both the carbon tax and the Trans Mountain pipeline.
Perhaps most interestingly it seems many out west are now tired of pretending the prime minister is actually listening to their problems.
Even Premier Scott Moe of Saskatchewan could not hide how he felt, choosing to publically respond to the prime minister on Twitter by noting “With all due respect Prime Minister, in our meeting I once again voiced the concerns on behalf of Saskatchewan Families, businesses, and industries that a forced federal carbon tax and Bill C-69 need to be repealed and the Trans Mountain pipeline needs to be built.”
While the odds seem completely stacked against them in Saskatchewan, in an interview with the Hill Times Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale, noted that the federal Liberals are now bullish about their prospects of winning “several” seats in Saskatchewan in 2019.
With this kind of turnout, it seems hard to believe that any gains could be made without a drastic change in government policy.
