Fine display with the opposition disrupting the legislature with their rule-breaking freak outs over Bill 5. That's not democracy...that's a mob mentality. How dare they stop the legislature from doing their work. They should be ashamed of themselves and resign.
But I guess they were trying to impress the 100 or so people who were in the gallery also misbehaving and getting arrested.
I guess those people didn't have anything else to do today like working to earn a living so they figured they would just yell like children and get arrested.

Horwath (who's new nickname is Angrya Warpath) also set a fine example name calling and getting kicked out. Nothing but class by a bunch of opportunistic whiny babies wasting everyone's time.

Kudos for Wynne who sat there in a civilized manner...mind you, she's just in it for her pension at this point but kudos nonetheless.

This is only the beginning. Canadians, for some reason, are fond of emulating Americans. The left in America has completely lost its shit over Trump. The anti Fords will try to match it.

Yet another example of how unprofessional Horwath is. She pissed away a great opportunity to show how a real leader would react but instead she was like a kid throwing temper-tantrum in a mall.

I wouldn't be surprised that her act will wear thin within the next two years and the NDP party (along with their union buddies) will realize that she is a loser and they will replace her.

Ever Canadian should be losing their shit over this, Doug Ford is an ass hat who out of control, cares nothing for democracy or rights or laws or basic human descency, who abuses power at every turn. Trudeau needs to use disallowance to protect ontario.

This is just the standard little parade of the righties on the board - Ref, Boober and JC. This is their golden moment of triumph. It's not going to last very long. So they may as well enjoy it.

Once again I disagree with your legal opinion my friend. I was never in favor of Ford introducing Bill 5 and I am not in agreement with him exercising the notwithstanding clause. As with all political parties - Some stuff I agree with and some stuff I do not.

Cheers!

Stuck in Lodi again
Warpath proves why she is a three time loser. Accusing Ford of attacking the people. The police arrested them because they would not leave the gallery when told to do so, but I guess she approves of lawlessness if it suits her cause.

I got a recorded call from CUPE yesterday telling me I need to contact my MPP to protest this legislation. Too bad it was a recording so I couldn't tell them to go to hell.

“If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell

We can always get rid of Ford in the next election but who will protect us from wacko judges?

Trudeau was so afraid of wacko judges awarding Kadr $40 million that he (Trudeau) settled out of court for $10.5 million.

Triumph??! You poor, misguided soul! A triumph would be Tory standing on the right side of the issue (for once) and accepting the consequences of the original Bill 5... and moving on.

Wake up! Bill 5 failed its very first test as a law. It is dead. As it should be.

If and when the replacement — Bill 31 — with its attached bulldozer gets through the Leg, then Tory will have something to be on-side with. Or more likely, to oppose.

He's doing OK so far.

Given th OP’s consistent posting style, I have my doubts that he understands the issue and is merely re-hashing old talking points that have been applied many times in the past. This is very different. Ford’s abusing his power and he thinks his majority was because of HIS qualities vs a rejection of the previous Liberal Govt. He’s using the Notwithstanding clause in a way that amounts to using a bazooka to go quail hunting. A real leader would craft good legislation that would do more than exact revenge on old City council foes. This misuse for something SO tiny and microscopic in its focus is a bad joke and a bad way to to do something early in his mandate, following his buck a beer embarrassment. People will forget in four years, but that is only if he doesn’t abuse it again. But Doug’s is known for his “the first one’s free” mentality and I would not be surprised if he becomes as addicted to this style of governance as his brother was addicted to crack.

Somebody needs to take Ford aside and tell him: “Son... Fat, drunk, and STUPID is no way to go through life”.

But way too late for the, “Son... Fat, drunk, and STUPID is no way to go through life”. advice to work. Back when the Fords were dealing in the ravines behind their house, Dougie figured out all he had to do to look good by comparison was stay sober, back in the bushes

Got him his current job didn't it?

True enough. Is it too late for his supporters to get the talk? Lol!

As opposed the childish display by whole NDP party. They acted like a bunch of 7 year olds. Disgusting. Use your words Andrea!

By the way New York city has 51 city councilors for a population of well 8 million. Roughly the same number as Toronto for roughly twice the population.

Puts them in the same age-group as the Premier, who could play nice, but refuses to.

Why was this so important to Ford that he's going to use the nothwithstanding clause yet not so important that he didn't mention it while campaigning?
Now that Ford has said he'll use the notwithstanding clause any time a court rules against him, what laws will he break next?
