Not all Syrian rebel groups are "terrorists". Indeed, most do not commit terrorist acts, however you might define the latter. Assad otoh has one of the most abysmal human rights records in the world.

Every Middle East regional power backs a faction or eight in Syria. Israel does the same. One man's rebel is another man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

Of course, Putin's playing piece is Assad and they will both tell you all day long that all Syrian "rebels" are "terrorists" and that Assad is the nicest guy in the Middle East.

Of course, the Americans who want regime change in Syria, have supplied the insurgents via the good guys Saudi Arabia and Israel.
What better way to avoid bloodshed in Syria than to supply heavy weapons to the combattants. Nobody ever believed that the insurgents bought their rockets at the local Home Hardware store.
It is all the too familiar slogan: "In order to save the Syrians, we had to kill them"

Evidence indicates many are terrorists and islamic fanatics. The US treats rebels the same way Assad does. Remember Waco?

The US govt has admitted it permitted the use of torture, what would you call it if another country found a way to supply fanatics opposed to this behavior with heavy weapons to start an armed insurrection in the US? Well they did exactly the same thing.

There are umpteen zillion factions in Syria and the extreme Islamists get generous funding from SA if Sunni and Iran if Shiite. The Ordinary "Mo Average" is often given the choice between joining 1 of the well armed, well funded extremist factions or getting shot. And those are just a couple of the complexities.

I call "false equivalence" on your comparison of rebellion against the US and rebellion against Assad. Go read some books on the Middle East and what Assad and his regime are like. You're not worth wasting time on.

So you are in favour of USA and it's dear friends Saudi Arabia and Israel shipping heavy arms to insurgents of Syria.

You must be devastated that the interference has not had the same result as the interference in Iraq and Libya. But , don't despair: your side is more successful in Yemen.

Why did you feel the need to start two threads in two days on the exact same topic? Were you not getting enough attention in the first one?

As I said in that one, the US and NATO countries INCLUDING CANADA have been supporting non-islamist rebels. Canada has even had boots on the ground doing it. I wonder why (other than your idolization of Assad) you repeatedly post about Israel doing even though Canada was as (if not more) involved in the same thing?
