It was American Airlines Flight 77 a Boeing 757. Plenty of photographs, and I know people who were there.

This is nothing new - There are lots of first response news videos for not only 911, but for other tragic events that did not contain correct information right away. I can still recall the initial news casts when the first plane hit - Most were stating it was a small prop plane.
