Angus Reid actually says: "Immigration in Canada: Does recent change in forty year opinion trend signal a blip or a breaking point?" and their numbers say only about "…[h]alf of Canadians (49%) say that the 2018 target of 310,000 is too high."

Well more then 49% of Canadians are pretty dumb and Trudeau only needs 38%. We need immigrants and a population of 100M people in the longer run.

...Immigration

https://www.spencerfernando.com/201...deaus-plan-to-massively-increase-immigration/

Between the Ontario Liberals and this clown this Country may never recover. He should go back to Grade 6 with his Silver spoon and play house with the trannies. Let him cut all the ribbons at any Gay Pride parade he wants but please. Don't let him touch anything else. How did we end up with a child for a PM ????
You want a Putin type character? Or Trumpty Dumpty? who would be your example of a global leader that would be good for Canada? I think Merkel is good, but heck she opened the fucking doors WIDE OPEN!!!

Which is silly because that number was worked out as the optimum immigration figure for economic development by the MEI.

Are you kidding? 100 million? I’m glad you’re not our PM.

Over the next 100 years, as Canada develops.

Why do you have a problem with this?

tripling our population over the next 100 years seams far too aggressive
There is no way job creation will grow like that & we do not want to bring in people if they will not be productive and will require financial assistance

The exact number is not important, but the idea is. Our population is rapidly aging and we need immigrants to keep the social safety net going because the locals aren't having kids or not having enough.

We don't anyway, Larue. That's what all the undertakings of financial support and the points system are for.

How about bring Harper back, at least we had a reasonable and intelligent adult as PM instead of Mr. Dressup!

At this time I'll settle for Chretien. We desperately need some pragmatism and stability. Actually, maturity would be a great start.

How about bring Harper back, … as … Mr. Dressup!
I tried to fix your erroneous post, taking out only the untruths, and pointless political hype, but that left nothing but a gross infringement on a beloved Canadian character.

You are missing the point
Technology changes are going to impact employment levels & in ways you can not begin to imagine
A hundred years from now there may not be enough jobs to support our current population
Triple the population & you will have tens of millions who are unable to work & be productive

Pretty much applicable to any country, not just Canada.
Automation and artificial intelligence has disrupted or starting to disrupt employment in many vocational fields beyond manufacturing.
