Hey everybody! I know it's kind of early... but what can I say... I'm bored... nothing to do today.

Anyway... I have decided that I am going to spend New Years in Ottawa! I remember the last couple New Years I was in Ottawa ('95 & '96) Ottawa was rocking! YES... even the SCs were going strong. Just looking at my calendar here I see New Years Eve is a Friday night. EVEN BETTER!

So my question - Who if anybody would consider (can't ask for commitment at this stage of the game) or how many TERBites would consider a little SC get together on Friday New Years Eve. This does not mean stay at the SC till the bell tolls at Midnight (I know some will want to be with family or SOs) but lets have a little warm up before midnight and those that want can stay and cheer into 2005.

Also what’s the best way to get from airport on Thursday around 1pmish to downtown? Taxi, Bus, Limo? Thanks in advance for any info.

It may be a bit early for New Year's plans. I may be able to make it for part of the evening.

Ah... of course that's why I said who would consider it... no commitments.

Anyway... believe it or not even though I lived in Ottawa for five years... I never once had to travel to the airport via public transit...(always took my car) so was wondering what's the best plan... taxi, limo, OTC? Just trying to get some ideas on my costs and let hotel know what time I will check in.

Oh... this time I am staying somewhere else... closer to BareFax.

On the right
If you want a cheaper solution, the Number 97 will take you downtown from the airport for under two bucks.

On the company dime I generally take a cab for around $25. I find those hotel shuttles to be annoying. It always seems that YOUR hotel is the first stop heading to the airport and the last stop from the airport.

Yep OC Transpo is cheaper. I think it's about $2.50 but I never take the bus. Hey Nitehwk, they havn't called it OTC since the early 70's! You must have spent some time here in your youth.

The shuttle...

I looked at the timetable and think I'll end up taking the shuttle. It looks like a 20 min ride to my hotel. That's not bad. In Toronto it's sometimes over an hour by the time you leave home and get to airport.

OCTranspo? You mean ride with the common folk. ME? I am a Sr. Member of TERB! Excuse me I don't ride with the common folk. <LMAO>

Yah... I was in Ottawa a bit in the 70's. That’s when I was doing my hippy hitch-hiking thing all over Canada. Flower power and make love not war... lol. I still remember to this day this little French redhead I met named Bernadette. OMG!
