Is this a done deal? Has anyone heard the latest on this one?

Last I heard, the Sens were announcing tomorrow (Tuesday) that they signed Hasek.

once again Kathleen your right on. Weeks may be a better fit for the Sens at this time. The leafs were considering him if Eddie didnt re sign. Weeks has given the leafs some trouble so if they wanan give their rivals from Toronto a challenge get weeks in a senator uniform.

But sure be happy about Hasek coming into town we will just have to show him how we can score hehe! Then again if he gets injured a backup plan would be needed.

i hate the Sens but getting rid of lalime was what had to be done. One game doesnt make a bad goalie? Come on this hasnt been one bad game...the Leafs have his number. his choking is what brigns down the rest of the team and theres no way the skaters are going to play as confident as they should with Lalime in goal. He had to go! Hasek is a risk due to injury but maybe worth the risk. Its almost guarenteed he wont play all year, he's too fragile but if he's healthy at playoff time he could be the man to take them to the next level. (not against the Leafs of course) Id be slightly excited if i were a Sens fan....although id also have probably shot myself long ago too....Spezza will have a great year now that Bonk has gone...We'll see. still hate em and i've always hated the Dominator so its a perfect fit for me. Anyhoo thats about the nicest thing you'll hear me say about the Sens ever! Its summer I dont have that total hate on yet! Drop the puck!

Kathleen I am gonna have to disagree, Lalime's collapse was not three bad goals in game 7, the Sens lost 17 one goal games last year, all due to yep you guessed it good ole Patrick, getting rid of him, and other passengers like Bonk and Bondra were great moves and this Hasek move, cannot be all that bad, he is making a base salary thrown in with incentives. and there is a back up plan in Emery who is ready to be a full time NHL goalie

i hear what you say Kat and dont totally disagree. But its all mental with Lalime and the Sens and their fans. He just had to go. He's not a bad goalie..but he needed a fresh start. I dont think though that Weekes is the guy to take you anywhere too far. its tough to get a great elite goalie now a days (is that one word?) Im just glad the Leafs got the Eagle locked up. Is it October yet?

No Weeks wouldnt fit the starting goalie role in Ottawa but he would be a good backup for any team including the Leafs. But anyway wasn't he resigned by the Canes? lol

As a Red Wing fan i have to say that Dom was good in his time in Detroit but when he came out of retirement he wasnt the same and the injuries continue to plague him,i wish him luck in Ottawa and if he stays healthy he should be able to help.

Hasek a washed up goalie going to the Sens?

Well that should sit real well with Leaf fans and everyone in their conference. --- Kev

Now thats a typical Muckler move, and as i said before, Ottawa fired the wrong guy when they let Jaques Martin go. There real problem is Muckler. He has accomplished nothing through out his career, except for ridding on Glen Sather coat tails in the Oilers hay day, neither have done anything of any sugnificance in 15 -20 years. Muckler signs a guy in his 40's who hasn't played in 2 years and is comming of surgery. By the time a new CBA is in place he could have been out of hockey for 3 plus years, not to mention he was a big problem in the red wings dressing room last year. My prediction is that the first GM fired next year or when ever hockey resumes will be John Muckler.

Well that might be close. Slats could well be first? If they sit for a year or more, Ferguson will receive some fire for hissignings and Doug Armstong in Dallas will be in trouble as they have a lot of money committed.
Weekes would be a better fit in Ottawa. Younger guy still improving like the rest of teh team. This seems like desparation all or nothing deal. Unless they are banking on Ray Emery stepping in as their starter in the next 1-2 yrs?

Yeah, the Sens are in for another rough go if they think that Hasek's the answer. It wasn't just Lalime that sucked when the Leafs spanked and outplayed them last year.

As long as Muckler's Muckler, the Sens will be the Sens aka Leaf whipping boys.
