I dont like the Williams' sisters at all. For some reason to me they represent the Lakers and the Yankees of tennis, I just want them to lose!

Actually Big E, I think its well documented why the Williams sisters are not liked. There is no need to sugar coat it by bringing in the likes of the Yankees et al.

Anyone know what Serena weights? She must be at least 170 or 180 pounds, and to think she could be out hit by someone whos 40 pounds or more lighter in weight. I can't believe the power of Sharapova especially on her backhand. --- Kev

Lindsey Davenport is another slugger at 6'2" 175 who Sharapova beat in the tourney.

She is pretty muscular and 145 actually seems a little light for someone 5'10" and ripped as she is.

I believe she's been very successful in business back home in Argentina marketing clothing and cosmetics under her name. That special combination of beauty and brains.
I just looked up her bio. She started playing pro in 1985 at age 15 and retired in 1996 at age 26. It seemed like longer. I guess you start losing your perspective of time when you reach my age.

All the same congrats to Serena for even making the final considering the last 12 months she has had with her sister getting shot to death and all. I fully expected Mauresmo to take her to the cleaners.
Its going to be an interesting next 12months once The Belgians get back on track as well as the Russians continually improving. And there is also the Williams sisters getting back on track which would be dynamite.
The men's game wont have too much of a competitive edge. Federer is in a class of his own on grass but Hewitt, Roddick are good enough to come good.
I like that Ancic guy too.
