I have heard something about this tonight on the FAN590. They said these rumours cuoldn't be confirmed as new or ones that have been circulating for a week or so. I heard he is getting married today or tomorrow so I would guess that is taking up his time more than some trade talk IMHO.

Vince who?
Raptors who?

Why keep a player who don't want to be here? I say give him his want and start afresh!

So poor Vince doesn't like the direction the team is going?

Since when do players feel they have the right to decide the direction of the team? Is it written in their contracts? Are they the assistant GM's or owners? Give me a break. They get the big contracts for playing, period. Keep your crybaby mouths shut and devote your efforts to playing the game you're getting paid to play. Don't bother concentrating on team management issues. It's too much for your peabrains to handle.

I think this started when some years back a team might discuss potential moves with a franchise player as a sort of appeasement thing. Make them feel that they're so important to the team. Now every idiot wants a say. Give 'em an inch...

Carter

Look around boys. Steve Francis forces the Grizzles to deal him BEFORE playing a professional game. McGrady walks on the Raps and now engineers a deal out of Orlando. Shaq demanding a deal even though it appears that his nemisis Kobe is leaving town via free agency! Carter's situation is slightly more understandable as he has been the whipping boy for a miserable operation for several years. Francis wouldn't even give Vancouver a look. McGrady made his deal and now walks away. The Lakers are contenders every year and O'Neil is very well paid. Just what is his complaint?
This is the NBA. Players are paid obscene amounts even by today's rediculous standards. Loyalty? Not even in the vocabulary much less a consideration.

Sorry, but wasn't he the guy who ripped our first-round pick last year? Then realized that Bosh could play?
This schtick is getting old.

Vince - engage brain before putting mouth in gear.

Could not agree more. If he wants to contibute to the team (any team) then let him do ewaht he is paid to do, go out EVERY night and try your HARDEST.

I hate cry babies.

I agree with everyone here. If the big baby wants out, get rid of him but not at the expense of having a talent gap. We should trade him for another marquee player, like kobe (i know what your thinking, but he's not a cry baby like vince and he always brings his A game) Any other suggestions. Besides, if he goes to another team and plays against us, we know how to deal with him.

TRADE HIM! sorry for shouting.

Trade him while he's worth something.....and while you're at it - trade his mother too! If I hear her on another call in radio show....
What business does she have talking on her sons' behalf.....wait....whose got Bonnie Lindross' number?

well I'd say the last couple of season Vince hasnt been the guy that we saw prior to that especially in his college years where he was amazing!

So good luck Vince whatever happens to you!

Who do you think the Raptors should get as a replacement? An equivalent price tag to vince or someone less expensive?

Some of the commentators during the finals were saying that the Pistons' win will maybe start a trend of teams who will not have any real superstars but a bunch of really good players who play together as a team.
This would indeed be a positive trend, but I would argue that there have been plenty of "team" teams in the past that really didn't have a superstar. The late 60's Celtics, early 70's Knicks, and mid 70's Warriors come to mind. Now granted, that was a long time ago, but it shouldn't be a surprise to anybody that this is a legitimate way to build a team.

As for VC, I have always thought he was a great player, and not really overrated. This has been covered before here, but there really aren't many players that can and have put up the numbers Vince has. That said, having VC clearly hasn't worked, so if he is becoming a bad influence, then he should be dealt.

And I agree, Steve Francis is a mutt. I had him on my fantasy team last season, and he sucked. It will be very interesting to see how McGrady fits into Van Gundy's snooze offense.

Good point eggman. I hope the raptors do get a few players in return for Vince. Team work is the key to success in sports. Toronto needs a team where there is not just the one guy that is carrying the team. IMO That was what Vince was doing when he was having a great season.

In response to a couple of points some have made:

"We should trade him for another marquee player, like kobe (i know what your thinking, but he's not a cry baby like vince and he always brings his A game)"

We couldn't get Kobe's wife straight up for Vince, much less Kobe himself. Vince is nothing more than a glorified jump shooter. He hasn't attacked the basket in years: He's Del Curry with more flash and talent, but a lot less character.

"Carter's situation is slightly more understandable as he has been the whipping boy for a miserable operation for several years."

How has Carter been the "whipping boy" of this organization? He's gotten everything he wanted. He's been the spoiled child of this team. He wanted everyone resigned a couple of years ago, he got it. He wanted Hakeem, he got it. He wanted to attend his college grad ceremony before the most important game in fanchise history, the owner gave him his private plane so he could attend. This guy has gotten everything he asked for until now, and that's why he's crying foul.

Fans were not happy with the selection of Babcok as GM and Arruajo in 1st round and Mitchell as coach. Be prepared to get a lot less than expected for Carter because he is the most overrated player in the NBA by fans, but not opposing GMs. Everyone in the business knows Carter is soft, has no leadership abilities and has the potential to be a coach and GM killer because of his whining about how the team should be run.

Vince, if you want out, shut up and do something on the court to earn having other teams want you.

They should trade Vince for Shaq. I know it would never happen as the Raptors would never take on that sort of contract, but then the Raptors would finally have a bonafide center...I'll wake up from my dream now....

LOL

But really, who would take VC?

Let's assume the Raptors aren't willing to get totally hosed on a trade deal. Who can or will you take?

Vince for Kobe - not in a million years - KB is probably going to Denver or the Clippers
Vince for Shaq - probably not
Vince for Iverson - I wish, bit probably not as well

Well, theres the short list....who else would you like to see? Odom? The Candyman? 2 first round picks and 2 second round picks? What would you take?

and on an unrelated note - Arraujo scored 8 pts and 8 board in the first summer league practise/ game for the raptors against the bobcats. at least he didn't foul out.lol

I don't think any team would take VC for a straight up superstar for superstar trade - he just isn't that good, flashy but not a complete player.

I use to always support VC,but now i say maybe the raptors should trade this crybaby for some good talent before he gets injured once again.
