Nascar at Talladega Alabama

Hi iam thinking of going to Talladega this fall and just wondered where the track is closest to what city. I was told Atlanta is not far from the track. Has anyone been to see a race there and any special motels that are closest to the track!etc! Any help would be appreciated

The tri oval superspeedway is in Birmingham. The airport is about 20 minutes away and there are a lot of hotels on the drag. The Holiday Inn is probably the easiest for reservations.

Rent a motor home and stay in the infield its much more fun than the stands.

If you do end up going to daga make sure that at the 3rd lap from the start when the cars are up to speed you hold onto your hat. The wind acts like a vacum and will just suck it right off your head.
