Who do you despise?

Just trying to get a feel for who the most despised franchise is, regardless of sport; who do you hate and why ?

A lot of people seem to hate:

Basketball - the Lakers
Baseball - The Yankees
Football - the Cowboys

etc....etc....pick a sport, pick a team.

English Football.....

Manchester United and then a very close second is Chelsea.

Both teams spend money like theres no tomorrow and most of the other teams just can not compete. This is not good for English Football or for any sport where those with plenty can buy themselves a cup. --- Kev

the Toronto Maple Leafs, years of suckering their fans into beleving they are a Stanley Cup contender while the mindless drones keep the ACC full.

Any team in Philadelphia, especially the Flyers. I rooted for the Soviets when they played them. And of course the fans of Philadelphia, in the grand tradition of throwing snowballs at Santa Claus, waited for Smarty Jones to come home and booed him. They booed a horse!! :p

Philly fans are absolutely brutal... the most classless fans in North America. Don't forget they cheered when Michael Irvin (Cowboys - arch-rivals of the Eagles) got carried out on a stretcher with an apparent neck injury. They booed hometown boy Kobe Bryant at the all-star game (despite Kobe wearing a Dr. J jersey all weekend). No one beats Philly fans.

The New York Rangers should be in there too. What a poorly run franchise that turned out to be. A truck with loads of cash and they couldn't shovel it out the back fast enough. What pathetic joke. --- Kev

I'd say the Senators, but it's hard to have a hate-on for someone who's never beaten you when it's counted.

It's okay, Fang. They have yet to outplay us in the playoffs, where it counts.

2000 -- defeated Ottawa, 4-2, Eastern Conf. quarterfinals
2001 -- defeated Ottawa, 4-0, Eastern Conf. quarterfinals
2002 -- defeated Ottawa, 4-3, Eastern Conf. semifinals
2004 -- defeated Ottawa, 4-3, Eastern Conf. quarterfinals

:) Just to set the record straight.
Ottawa has yet to outplay the Leafs when it counts.
All this just goes to show why the Senators are such a dislikeable franchise, though - idiot fans.

But I thought the final score was the only thing that mattered, ultimately?

2000 - Ottawa outplayed Toronto in two games
2001 - Ottawa didn't outplay Toronto
2002 - Ottawa outplayed Toronto in three games
2004 - Ottawa outplayed Toronto in three games

Or are you changing your opinion yet again? Is the actual best-of-seven SERIES the most important thing now? How abstract are you going to get? If Ottawa eliminates Toronto next year in the playoffs, will you then say that because Toronto won four of the last five series, they outplayed the Senators?

Bah! *waves hand*

Yes, the final score is the only thing that matters.
Whoever wins a period has outplayed the other team in that period.
Whoever wins a game has outplayed the other team in that game.
Whoever wins a series has outplayed the other team in that series.

What's the object of playing a game? To win. What's the object of playing a series? To win the series.

Fine. Ottawa has outplayed Toronto in several playoff games. Not enough to win any series, however, which is sorta the point in the playoffs, right? LOL Ottawa has failed to outplay Toronto in any playoff series to date. Clear enough for ya?

Just proves my point that you're arguing semantics.
