A well placed informer has told me that Keith Acton will be named Head Coach of the Sens on Tuesday next week.

I would have hope that Mucks could have tried to get Tim Hunter from San Jose if we were going to go with a rookie head coach. Could you imagine a player taking a hissy fit infront of Hunter? He'd probably lay the guy out with a punch to the head.

I heard the same thing also. Acton comes highly recommended & is close to Muckler from their Oiler days. Who has the bigger nose? Hunter or Acton? Both are big but Hunters may be bigger due to the many times it has been broken. Remember when John Kordic raked his stick over Acton's nose & broke it! Kordic's comment was "It was payback"!

Scub, you may want to move this to the sports discussion.

I'm not sure who your well placed source is scub, but Paul Maurice broke that news on the Fan morning show in Toronto yesterday. It's believed he moved to the top of the list when the Devils wouldn't let Robinson interview for the job.

Personally I think it's a great move...who better to teach them how to beat the Leafs than an ex-Leaf coach. :D

I wonder how Acton's going to take to any more Cup "guarantees" by his players. I suspect not well.

I guess the guarantee was void in Ontario.

True but Potulny deserves better than 5th round money. We have one of each of the brother act but the Potulny's appear to be more physical players. Jean Paul Parise is the father of Zach & Jordan.

Unless the Sens dump some of their forwards ... Potulny won't get too much of a chance to play with the big club next year. Guys like Vermette and Langfeld waiting to make the club or play a greater role. Fisher was injured for the bulk of last year. Jacob Klepis and Alexei Kaigorodov are highly touted as well.

The guy is 24 and figure that time is not on his side (i.e. Peter Sejna, STL).

Zach Parise, I see being a decent player but I'm not sold on the 'Eaves' ... reminds me of Martin and Steve Kariya.

OJ - I think your on to something... Ted Nolan maybe the best unemployed coach around... let's hope he gets a call instead of seeing such knowledge and talent go to waste...

Forgot Sens have P.Eaves, Mirnov and Bochenski too. Hope Potulny does well. Figure the younger Kariya brothers won't be NHLers though.

Orpik and Whitney were high profile draft picks. Scuderi and Fata will probably be only organizational depth players.

After recording their best season in franchise history in 2002-03, the Senators finished fifth in the Eastern Conference this season with a 43-23-10-6 record. They were eliminated from the first round of the playoffs by the Maple Leafs.
Salt? Meet open wound.

So, when is Muckler going to deal Lalime for Luongo?

Goober that wound is never going to heal is it?

and to that other Goober (no offense Goober) that said Domi is strictly a goon.....did you watch the guy play in the playoffs? Domi can be a goon and a big ass at times but thats not his main role. He was one of the hardest working guys on the team. Too bad maybe thats why they lost to the Flyers.

Yeah, so much for "inside" information. ;)

And, oh yeah, I'm sure the Leafs are staying awake at night wondering why they have guys like Domi instead of players like Jeff Farkas!

Well Murray the former Ducks GM is now the bench boss of the Sens. Don't know much about him but I hear hes a little more aggressive than Martin's style. Glad Acton wasn't hired by the enemy lol
