Lecavalier, too.

Again, one playoff does not a superstar make.

Wow what an entertaining game! I seriously thought the game was done in the 3rd but then the Flyers came to life thanks to you know who!

Game 7 should be even more exciting!

As I have said before and I'll say it again. If Primeau is not on the score sheet for game 7 Lightning will move on to the finals!

Too bad he wasn't selected by Team Canada :(

Would love to Andreychuk score the big goal on Saturday!

Go Bolts Go!!

Ranger, you seem to be so knowledgeable about hockey that I begin to wonder if you are not the alias of Pat Quinn. I agree with you that one playoff does not make superstar. It is exactly this mentality that the Leafs is a collection of “superstars” who have impressed you – oh I mean Pat – through their repeated, past, playoff performances. Wake up, the best players CURRENTLY available should make the team, and Primeau is as good as there is available right now.

As for Lecavalier, he is good but I would pick Primeau over him anytime of the day. With Primeau's physical attributes, he can also be an effective winger if the Canadian team is loaded with centers.

Take your ritalin, iam.

If you're so in love with Primeau, why don't you go see if he's available.

Sheesh.

You think Primeau's THAT MUCH BETTER than Lecavalier? Give your head a shake. Here are their numbers in the last three years:

Primeau:
2003 - 22 pts in 58 gms
2002 - 46 pts in 80 gms
2001 - 48 pts in 75 gms

Lecavalier:
2003 - 66 pts in 81 gms
2002 - 78 pts in 80 gms
2001 - 37 pts in 76 gms

No contest, dude. You're being blinded by ONE playoff.

Anyway, both are centers. You move them to the wing at your own peril - you CERTAINLY lose defensive efficacy doing so, and probably some offensive output as well.

I'm sorry you seem to have a man-boy fetish for Keith, but try not to let it influence your hockey sense TOO much.

These internationals are usually much more about speed than physical presence, very unlike the NHL playoffs.

Whatever. I'm glad you're not picking the team.

There is some ridiculous comments on here, everything is not measured in points scored, although Lecavilier is a very good player and only going to get better. For him you have just disagreed with yourself in not picking Lecavilier on your Canadian team.Stats show it.Its not just one series for either player.

Primeau skills are not needed with proven Centres ahead of him on the big ice surface, it's a different game with more speed

Lecavalier has not proven to be a consistent performer or easy to coach and is not needed this time but he should be a lock in the future

Likely, one or both will be added, as a reward, due to injuries

Throughout the series, Tortorella has pulled Cavalier’s line off the ice every time Primeau was on. This was particular evident in Game 6, when the Cavalier line was clearly out-played and out-muscled when the two matched up.

Cavalier is very good, and is on his way to be one of Canada’s best. Primeau may not have the same offensive stat to show, but he is a better two-way player, wins his share of face-offs, and can be used to blanket other team’s top lines while be an offensive threat at the same time. Quinn too tried to avoid matching Sundin against Primeau. This said a lot about Primeau, statistics aside.

I agree that Cavalier might be more effective on larger ice. But the World Cup is going to be played on NHL rinks.

Lecavalier, right now, is a MUCH better offensive player than Primeau. Primeau, if he made the team, wouldn't be playing centre, I don't think - as I said, this would DRASTICALLY reduce his defensive importance - and his defensive play is precisely why other teams didn't like matching up their top lines against him.
Right?
