Something dawned on me yesterday......
This whole "court to court" deal with Bryant and how disillusioned and dense fans seem to be in realtion to things that are of real importance.
Let's see...
His name is NOT Kobe Tillman or Pat Bryant - there is nothing heroic in his actions. He is not shuttling to and from the middle east. Fighting for freedom in the daytime and fighting for a NBA title at night.
The man is an accused RAPIST (no, not guilty - just accused). He gets paid millions of dollars to play basketball. He scores 42 points to help his team - great (BUT he gets paid a lot of money for this!). He allegedly raped a girl - and he has to go to court....so what! Baby, if you wanna hear the music - you better pay the piper.
This is my problem - I see nothing heroic here.
Why does the general public excuse bad behavior by celebrity athletes? Is this the publics fault or the sports writers who seem to idolize these people like they're s@&#ing them off - it's sickening.
