How much should the Leafs be luxury taxed?
If the Leafs have a $51 million payroll and are projected to get a $19 million dollar luxury tax, then they would be paying $70 million for a $51 million product.
Yes most of this board are Leafs fans, but we don't enjoy paying ever increasing ticket prices for ever increasing salaries. Putting our Toronto Leafs fans bias aside, how much should the luxury tax be?
At what hard dollar value?
At what penalty?
Say $50 million hard cap, with a 100% penalty?
Exemptions, such as, you are allowed to go over the cap to sign players you've drafted or players that you "developed" as a "youngster" or "low point player"?
