I was going to call for the Leafs to win this one. BUT if Joey N. is out (looks like it) and if Mats doesn't play (doesn't seem likely), I'm no longer sure.
I think I'd have to call for another Philly win, unless Belfour shuts them out - possible, but not likely.
Flyers 4 - Leafs 0
(part of my reasoning is that Eddie's play slips when it looks like the game is getting out of reach)
The series is still winnable for the Leafs, but they'll need all hands on deck, and probably the return of Mats or Joey. At this point in the season, it's just too hard to overcome so many key injuries for any length of time. Especially against a team of Philadelphia's calibre. Maybe Esche will have a bad game? Who knows ......

I'm with Ranger here. Tough call. I was hoping with the time off, Joe and Mats would be fine. I can't see a blowout, but I'm going with a tighter game, low scoring, and a 2-1 Toronto win on an EN.

Kathleen
I'll take ANY Toronto win, Kat.
It's a tough sled without your top guys, though - Nieuwsy, Mats, Owen - Mogilny's career effectively over. Ugh. There's just not much left up front. :(

What a knob you are. Ranger states what he feels...and you call it making excuses...you want to have normal conversations yet you make idiotic comments like that. Ranger stated a very logical thought but you just have to stick your Leaf hatin' nose in there and make a jealous snide comment. You in many ways are worse than Pansey...LOL.

From a outsider point of view...I'll call the game 5-1 Flyers over Leafs!

Clearly, Philly has gotten into Belfour's head and the Leaf defence can't handle the Flyers. Also, Toronto has had zip, ziltch, nodda in the way of offense so far in the playoffs, other then game 7 of the first round where lalime gave them the game! Heck, I could have strapped pads to my Golden Retriever and he could have played better than Lalime!

All us Leaf fans should not worry. The Leafs always find a way to win when everyone thinks they should lose. And besides the Leafs always do things the hard way.

BTW:
Screw those shithead Americans and there Gay TV Playoff sched.

Kathleen--due to all the Leafs injuries,it would seem to me.agreeing with Ranger, who called for a 4-0 Flyers win,and then saying Leafs will win 2-1 was contradictory.Keith Jones is now a hockey anylist with Al Morganti. He lives in the area.He grew up near Toronto and was a huge Leafs fan.I can agree on Clarke i dislike him also. You can have him in Toronto, but unfortunately Snyder the owner loves him. Hate is a strong word ,so dislike alot i will use,as you to the Flyers. You seem to like the tough guys, cant understand why you like a weisel like Domi. Will you watch tonights game,Leafs arrived in town yesterday. take care

I think Belfour's playing fine - the second goal wasn't the best on him, but he made a lot of good saves - hey, you're not gonna win too many games scoring one goal.
They are *certainly* not "in Belfour's head".
The Leafs had a good effort last night, looked much more rested, but just couldn't convert - Sundin hurt, Mogilny done, no Nolan or Nieuwendyk - that puts a lot of pressure on the rest of the guys to score more than they usually do.
It's gonna be a tough go for the rest of the series unless they get Nieuwendyk back.
At 2-0, though, the series ain't over. Obviously, the next game is critical for the Leafs.

Ranger now you've got it! The Leaf foot soldiers have done their job ie Domi and Wilm. Even their d has performed admirably, a couple of brain cramps by Kaberle in front of the net, otherwise they've been solid. But, the Leafs can win this series only of they get not only get they big guns back in the lineup, but if the out perform the Philly big boys. It would help if Esche stumbled or, Eddie threw up a couple more 0's.
Personally, I don't think matters. The way Tampa has handled the Habs, I think they are destined for the finals.

Well, Leaf fans, at least the Leafs are trying, their effort last night was pretty good....that series is not over....but Pistol, yes the Bolts have a much better team than Mtl (the Habs were not even expected to make the playoffs, so their season is already a success in the rebuilding process)....but the Habs are not even at 50% of their playing capacity....1st game was very similar to the 1st game against the Bruins (pathetic!) and yesterday they gave a decent effort during only one period...the fault is on the coaching team, if they can't prepare their team, than maybe golf will be a good option.....but believe me, it will be much closer if and when (????) the Habs start playing.

Leafs are playing well, so are the Flyers. Leafs need some of the bounces and to stay the course, Nieuwy please come back!

This is a good series with some good hockey. Too bad the good guys are losing thus far but THE LEAFS can win.

Go Leafs!

That Leafs can't rely solely on Belfour. That their best players have to be just that. Its fine Domi is playing well, but that will put them over the top only if Mogilny, Roberts, Francis, sundin. Leetch. McCabe, Neiuwendyck, Tucker, Antropov ......pick it up especially with respect to offensive production.
