had to divert some attention from the 8 million hockey threads that are dominating this board...

but what are they now, 3-11, winless at home, have only led at home for ONE inning this season, and they cant hit, Delgado and is .140 or whatever avg is really earning that 17mil...I thought the Jays were supposed to be like the Marlins last year....though there is still what, 148 games left?

It's early. .... But, yeah, they may not be very good.
Give them time, though.

If they only had one good catcher, they'd outplay the opposition every game, right Ranger68?

</sorry>

A pox on that! With the Expos leaving soon, that'd leave us with no team in Canada! Arg!
I enjoy the existence of baseball here. It's a much more cerebral, relaxed sport than the NHL.
Plus, you can actually get seats to the games. ;)

Baseball games can be a lot of fun to attend. It can be awfully boring though if your team is totally out of the race and the games are meaningless.

Seeing as it's early in the season, the games are still meaningful, but they gotta watch out. I think they have a decent team and will come around. All teams go through slumps during the season. The Jays are just getting their's out of the way early. Let's hope.

Looking at the financial disparities (especially Jays' division), I'd consider it a decent year (from the fans getting lots of meaningful games to view point of view) if they're not mathematically eliminated until mid-September. Just in time for hockey.

Yup - I think they'll turn it around. Not sure if they'll compete, but they'll start to play.

If they don't compete they'll never get the fans & corporate money to come back. I still like going to a couple of games now & then, but I get my tickets for free because nobody wants them. Heck, you can buy a ticket for $2 now. Very soon they really will be free.

Jay's recently open up hot and fail down the stretch. Perhaps this nasty home losing streak is a ruse while the LEAFS win some hockey.

The Jays??....they still play baseball in T.O? The only team in this city right now is the Leafs as far as i'm concerned.

And the attendance figures would back you up.
Cripes.
When the playoffs end, the Jays'll pick it up.

Don't lose faith yet. It's truly a long, long, long season, and take advantge of the $2.00 tickets while you can. It's the best deal in pro sports anywhere.
