So, for all the grandstanding a small group of protesters did at the Grand Prix, did it have any effect on prostitution related arrests? After all, wasn't Montreal one of the cities that said they weren't going to enforce C-36? Just wondering if LE caved to the pressure... Sure, go after those who exploit but leave consenting adults alone!

With any luck the Special Force will eventually kill off the Montreal Grand Prix & then Harper, MacKay & Smith can stand up and proudly scream "WE DID IT"

Special police squad cracks down on sex tourism during Grand Prix weekend
Is the (implicit) target purely trafficking and minors, or do you think there is any actual interest in bothering with consenting adults?

So, it would seem that six months in, LE appear to be focusing their efforts on dealing with trafficking related offenses - which, ostensibly is what the new law promotes. That said, with regard to video of the 'sexploitation' protesters at the grand prix - LE had to say something to save face as they were being interviewed. However, to my knowledge, as of yet there have been no consenting adults charged under the new law. There doesn't seem to be much appetite to do so, either. I'm just wondering if someone does get charged. would it stick? I suspect any sane judge would take one look at the whole 'legal to sell but illegal to buy' conundrum and throw the whole thing out before it wastes any more of their time...

They said they were patrolling massage parlors. Can someone explain to me, how would someone get arrested for attending fully licensed business?
I think they just said that to keep up appearances that they were 'serious' about enforcing the new law, to appease protesters, right wing religious nuts etc. - more of a shot across the bow than anything else. After all, the proof is in the pudding, is it not? If they were serious about harassing consenting adults, we would have heard about it by now. Just my opinion...
