Regardless of whether they eliminate the Bruins and I do hope that they do, it shows a hell of a lot of heart to come back and tie the series forcing a 7th and deciding game. I was almost convinced there would only be 2 Canadian teams left after this round, now I am not so sure. I'm glad that it would be Montreal and Tampa instead of Toronto in the next round if they get through so that sets up the eastern finals match up for Montreal and Toronto. Of course I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, I'm just happy they have a shot to win this series.

Go Habs Go.

thecoolguyms72 - you are getting ahead of yourself. It's Ottawa in the next round not Toronto ;). Also I think Montreal will take game 7. The Canadian teams are involved in the more entertaining series'. And I think they will all go 7 games and (crossing fingers) setting up a Montreal -Ottawa Eastern Final.

hey I'm allowed to dream aren't I?

If that's the case, n_v, then Ottawa better do something about it. But hey, Montreal did it, so it can happen. I don't see it happening, but either way a Montreal vs. Toronto/Ottawa Eastern Final would make me happy as it would be a classic showdown either way, and it would ensure a Canadian team in the finals. I do think that Philly will be damn tough for either Toronto or Ottawa to contend with.

The way I see it, if Montreal wins, they will carry more momentum into the series with Tampa than either Toronto or Ottawa. And despite all the "injuries" I think Montreal will be less beat up after this series, which is very surprising since Boston is much bigger. In my opinion, Boston isn't using their size to their advantage as they should be, Thornton isn't living up to his billing, and you can't rely on Samsonov's speed to win against all of Montreal's speed, at least not consistently.

Go Habs Go!!!

thecoolguyms72 - Some good points made but you have to remember that Thorton is playing with bruised ribs, his hip is hurting and his wrist may not be 100%. Also don't be so quick to count out the Senators if they face the Flyers. Remember that as much trouble the Leafs cause the Sens, the same is true how much trouble the Sens are for the Flyers. The Sens own the Flyers and I honestly don't see why that would change. But like you said GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!

Bruins in seven.
The Habs would be better served if they stopped flopping all over the ice like hunted seals.

I think the Bruins would be best served not getting out-hustled, out-scored, and out and out losing. There is still one game left, it is 3 -3 and the way the series has been played either team could win it. You can't possibly say that the Bruins have dominated. Other than the first game, Montreal could have won any of the other games. In fact, if Julien had put Perreault out for the face off in game 4 with 30 seconds left, I have a feeling that we wouldn't be discussing this, rather the Habs would be gearing up for Tampa.

We can all say what we want, the Habs have played (ecxept for game one) better than the Bruins for the vast majority of minutes. They are skating, passing, and not taking stupid penalties. They deserve to win.

True enough. The same can be said for the Senators in their series with the Leafs.

Habs in 7

The Habs have out played Boston since game 1. I agree with Ranger 68, the diving has hurt them in there were ceveral obvious penalites not called because the Refs don't want to fooled.
Thornton hasn't scored and he's taken bad penalities. Kiovu, Kovalev, Perrault coming on as the series continues. Mtl's speed vs Boston's size/strength. Komisarek coming in for the injured Quintal has had an impact. His hit on Thornton in game 6 was huge.
Still, at the end of the dday it comes down to Raycroft v Theodore.
Raycroft started well but has fadeda little. Theo started poorly by his standard but has come on strong. He will be the difference tonite as the Habs win 3-1.
