That end to that Montreal-Boston game was so pathetic that I found it funny (obviously I'm not a Habs fan)!

Feel bad for Montreal and Theodore (and Sourey) who got hosed because of Kovalev trying to dramatize a penalty.

Kovalev what a buffoon.

Even if hes hurt, he should still be playing the puck. Instead he holds his hand like the girl he is and runs into his own player (Sourey)...........what a smuck. --- Kev

Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
He tried the same thing as Ribiero last game...trying to get the ref to call it.

Side note: C'mon Kev, don't tease us with the clip, if she's not going to take it off....

The clip was probably censored so as not to offend the sensibilities of TERBites. ;)

I tuned in at the end of the 3rd period and watched about the first 6 min of OT. I foud the play in OT to be lackadasial and fairly disappointing overall. I also lost a lot of respect for the Habs by Ribiero's childish antics in the last game, so I stopped watching.

Anyhow, if Kovalev was play acting then I say the team deserved to lose.

I agree entirely. Kovalev was having a great game, then decided to try to pull a Ribeiro and cost them the match.
What a dipshit!
I'm glad a player's attempt at overly dramatizing a penalty cost his team for once. BIG time.

If you thought that was boring hockey then you don't know what hockey is all about. The game was a classic and I am a Habs fan. CND GUY you are 100% correct, the game was lost when Julien refused to use Perreault for the late face offs.

Wherever I shouldn't be
I think Ribeiro's crap at the end of game 3 was a factor here. It didn't look like much of a slash to me, but Kovalev's reaction might have drawn a whistle if Ribeiro hadn't shown up the officials in the last game. They aren't allowed to talk to the media, but what ref wouldn't be pissed seeing a guy who went down like he was shot laughing on the bench a minute later? The refs have egos too, I doubt that will get the Habs any favours.

YMMV ...

I don't think the hockey was bad, I just think it lacked passion. To me, OT in the playoffs should be a demonstration of some of the best hockey you'll ever see. I think it should be played smart but with Absolute Determination. I just didn't see that happening in the first 6 min of OT so I tuned out. They hockey I saw reminded more of a regular season game than anything else.

I coach my 10 year olds team and tell the kids all the time if they can get up and off the ice then do it. No faking, no complaining, just play hockey. No question, what Ribeiro did was wrong but I don't think the refs took that into account when Kovalev got slashed. The refs had the attitude from the first minute of OT to let the players play. This is why nothing was called last night, and virtually nothng ever gets called in OT. In the first OT period there were at least 2 occasions where the ref should have called something whether it is OT or not.

Actually, Murray took a penalty in the 2nd OT, a pretty lame holding call. Kovalev has a rep for " embellishment ", and I think that, and Ribeiro's antics caused the Ref's to say " here we go again ", and ignore it. I saw the slash, wasn't worth a penalty in the regular season, let alone in double OT. I do think if the team and player involved were different it would have got a whistle. Historically, between the Bruins and Habs, this sort of thing has resulted in a major to the Bruins, and the Spanish Inquisition post game.

If you saw the replay of the Murray penalty in OT you were able to see that it was very obvious and had to be called simply bcuz there would have been complete control with a clear shot on the net from around the slot. The refs were right in not calling the Kovalev penalty. It was a slash, but not one that should have received a penalty, especially in OT.

The game was dull, sorry - not a classic just because it went to double O.T.

Kovalev has been questioned by both Julien and Souray, and if that doesn't tell you what's going on, there's no hope for ya. ;)

Kovalev has a history of diving, Who remembers earlier in his career when he played for the Rangers in a playoff game against the Quebec Nordiques. Craig Wolanin gave Kovalev a weak one hander in the back, Kovalev fell to the ice like he was just shot. Joe Sakic went down the ice and scored. The goal was called back, and Kovalev got up off the ice and was sitting on the bench laughing. That goal which was called back cost the Nordiques the game and the series. A combination of Kovalev's history and Ribeiro's antics in the earlier game probably had a lot to do with the no call on the play. The refs remember these things and it looks good on Him and the Habs. There is no place in hockey for this crap and it just ruins the game. For once a referee made a good call with a no call .And for Kovalev, just play the game and leave the acting for the ACTRA members.

How about Marchment laying behind the net like he was shot to draw the penalty against Alfredson, or Tucker last year against Philly laying on the ice like he was knocked out till he realized there was no call then he jumped up and went to the bench. Tucker did the same thing against Philly earlier in that year as well.
Oh I have a better one, how about Tucker lying on the ice after being drilled from behind by Alfredson, or how about Domi lying on the ice after being drilled from behind from Alfredson......hmmmm I see a pattern here. And I'll never forget Alfredsons remarks after the leafs scored on the penalty he toock for hitting Domi, it's Domi's fault cause he can't skate.....Give me a break.......How could you put Tucker in the same sentence as Kovalev....Tucker is a gamer and he dosn't stay down unless he is really hurt.

Yeah, skipstagger, how about when Berard lay on the ice pretending to be hurt after taking a high stick in the eye from Hossa! That was classic. ...
