Can Belfour make the difference??

Question to all you experts:

I'm not a hockey expert so can anyone tell me if it's possible for a great goalie like Belfour to carry an average team like Toronto all the way and win the the Cup?? Assuming Belfour stays hot, of course. And I also want to know if it's been done before in the history of the NHL??

I think the question of if he's good enough is irrelevant. You really want to know if he's handsome enough to win the cup.

Can a goalie be hot and win games? Sure.
Can a goalie be hot and win multiple games? Sure.
Doesn't this answer your question? If you're asking about history, the most obvious example is, yes, the '93 Habs.
And, by the way, the Leafs aren't an "average team" without Belfour. With one of their backup goalies, they may very well be a *below* average team, but with an average goalie, they'd be a good team - good, not great.

See, now this answers my question. The reason why I'm asking is cause history tends to repeat itself.
Maybe, just maybe, Belfour can pull it off.

Solid goaltending leads to other positives on the team. Confidence, increased chances and the fact that the other team may try too hard ( and make mistakes).
As long as Eddie is solid, the WHOLE team will be solid. I must say that I am impressed with the D while he plays well.
