Ok fellow Terbites Game 1 is in the books in favour of the Sens 4-2 with a two goal performance by Marian Hossa. For Ottawa's sake it was important to get the win if for no other reason than to erase the memory of the 6-0 drubbing last week at the hands of the Leafs. Game two is pivotel. Should the Sens win Game 2, the Sens would take control and the series could be looking alot shorter than anyone thought. If the Leafs win we are back at square one and in for a fight.

What do you think the score will be in Game 2 and what changes (personel or lineup) should either team do if any.

I personally feel Quinn should find a place for Stajan (I love how that kid plays) in the lineup and sit either Reichel, Renberg or Kilger. He should also move Mogilny up with Sundin. For the Sens Martin should, despite winning Game 1, sit Vermette and dress Spezza. Spezza is fourth in scoring for the Sens and proved last year he can play in the playoffs. I would make this move also to counter the changes Quinn is about to make for Game 2, thus trying to stay a step ahead of the oppositon's coaching moves.

Just like in the Game 1 thread, can we keep this to contructive hockey talk. I am interested in how everyone thinks things will pan out and synopsis of things, thanks. And BTW Pansey, keep the hehehe's out of here also - analytical hockey talk JP (and mature).

I hear you about the loyalty factor that Quin adheres to but I don't get it. It's not like they have won anything for him. I say play Stajan as he can only contribute with his young legs and gain that playoff experience he is lacking. can't do much watching from the press box.

Quinn should only have one of Reichel, Renberg or Kilger. Remember Kilger was waived by Mtl, while R/R don't seem to have blue/white tattoed on their hearts.

Stajan should be in the lineup. However, I think Quinn liked Niew with Poni and Antropov, and that's why he didn't dress.

Sundin, more or less, did his disappearing act. Would like to see Mogilny up there with him.

Game 2? we'll have to wait.

n_v, great to have a Sens fans who can discuss hockey in a mature manner.

Hey!!!! What about me??????

Note one of my posts in another thread below:

Jim...seriously.....can you give the 'hehehe' and 'rack em up' stuff a rest. If Toronto wins a game it would be nice not to have Leaf fans do the same thing. You attention to this matter would be apprciated.

I believe that we can have some decent debate, but this "hehehe" sh*t is starting to piss even me off.

BTW, having Tucker on the first line in place of Renburg is an improvement IMHO. Martin will have to ensure he has his team making the proper adjustments to counter this move.

Thank god we have a Leaf fans like Kathleen, Ranger68 and others who enjoy a great debate and banter with us Sens fans.

Looks like Tucker and Klee will be in tonight and Spezza will sit for the Sens.

Just saw that Tucker and Klee are in the pre-game skate. Couldn't see Spezza or Johansson, but CBC didn't show much of the warmup.

Very good game so far. That first period was something with all those hits on the ice. Leafs are playing well. The top line has comeout tonight for them with 2 goals. Time for the Sens to counter. Their second shots have to go somewhere else than at Eddie's chest.

Great hits in this game. Wish the ref's would put away their whistle, too many questionable calls, and it's taking away from the flow of the game. Leafs appear to have started protecting the lead and are giving up too many scoring opportunities.

Go Leafs Go.

I thought Lalime played quite well. Eddie was in the zone. The Sens just didn't get their powerplay going, that's all. The Leafs got undisciplined late taking so many dumb penalties in the 3rd. It's a miracle Ottawa didn't score on the 5 on 3.

Good game, Belfour played a great game and was the difference. If not for belfour the outcome could have been different, certainly not an outstanding game for the Leafs, but they do get the win.

Both teams played well and the goal on the 5-3 was the nail in the coffin for my Sens. Ottawa can feel good about the game outshooting the Leafs 32-26.

Ottawa needs to stay out of the penalty box and get better with those darn faceoffs next game.

I agree Scubadoo, the leafs came out gunning and for the first 10 minites outplayed the Senators in every aspect. But afterwards it seemed like they were just trying to keep the lead for the other 2 periods. Very stupid penalties taken by both teams, especially on Toronto's part. Antropov and Poni are going to be the death to the leafs if they keep doing stupid things. Good game nonetheless, very good hits and aggressive play. What a playoff game should be. Regardless of who wins this series, its going to be an entertaining one if it keeps up like it did today.

This sets up an interesting game 3. The Sens powerplay was enemic in game 2 and their shot selection was not the best. Kudos to the Leafs for hanging on for the victory. And some awesome hits on boths sides. Tucker sure got some tatoos to remeber his comeback. On to game 3

Ottawa played an undisciplined game. The Leafs got lucky on a bad pass and a 5-3. Belfour kept them in, no doubt about it. The Sens had his number all night. He was a shooting duck .... hehehe. Couple of lucky bounces and the series is ours ..... rack em up !!!!!!. The cowardly Leafs made some near fatal defensive mistake and looked unimpressive in that department .... too funny ..... games 3 and 4 are going to be sweet. Bring on Spezza ..... hehehe ...... he'll turn your D into pretzels .... hehehe ...... rack em up !!!!!

Yet with all the Leafs "mistakes" they still seemed to beat the Sens...wow you must really suck! LOL

there was nothing lucky about either of the goals...good hard work by Roberts...LOVED the one where he deeked out the man moutain and took it back inside on him...leaving his size 25 feet standing still...LOL too funny
