I wanted to asked the legendary agencies here if they were at all worried about this bill and if has affected the way they do business in anyway. Myself and my partner from Miami are looking to open a new agency here in Toronto and was looking for some advice from the more established guys/girls that are here already. We are very serious business men and only want to work with the best and believe having a good team in support is very essential.

Do you do anything different because of the bill ?
Do we need to do anything in term of licences or registration of a business to open up here ?
What are your suggested actions in opening up a new agency here ?

If you guys can either answer me here or PM me in my inbox that would be greatly appreciated. I ask for the advice and help of the agencies associated and are members are TRAC. I have emailed you through the email from the TRAC website but still didn't receive a response so I was hoping I will have a better chance here. I hope to hear from all you legends soon.

Thanks

my advice is to wait till the Liberals win the Election and hope they'll strike down the Law or refer it to the Supreme Court for review

Local L.E. is like the days of old ..... applying the law to specific problem situations. Thus no reason for the Liberals to stir up trouble for themselves tinkering with C-36. Waaayy too much Political trouble with any Prostitution Laws.

Therein lies the rub... prostitution is too much of a political hot potato. Wynn paid lip service to it, but don't expect anything to be referred to the courts on her behalf. The Liberals (assuming they form the next government) will not touch it with a 10 foot pole lol. So, that leaves an unjust law on the books, not readily enforced so no constitutional challenge can come of it... thereby leaving the law to be enforced at LE's discretion and/or whims. So, in all likelyhood hobbyists should be ok, but still more at risk than under the previous laws.

A dangerous situation, and one reason we shouldn't just accept it (in addition to the increased dangers faced by sex workers as a result of C36).

I agree completely... only thing is, in order to fight it we need a constitutional challenge. Unfortunately, that won't happen as long as no one is being charged. It's almost akin to the old bawdy house law: On the books, technically illegal to be found in one, but it was never enforced to my knowledge. N.B. The notable exception being LE acting on a specific complaint.

So how are the Liberals doing in the Polls? Is it likely they'll form a Majority? Remember the Mike Duffy case hasn't hit the Courts yet, wait till that Duffy crapp hits the fan, and it will, you'll see public opinion turning against the Conservatives in a hurry. Duffy can say whatever he wants now, even lie, but he won't be able to lie in court, that's perjury, I hope he spills his beans, I'm sure he knows some stuff that he hasn't revealed yet, and Harper is forced to resign. The Mike Duffy thing is a wild card...

The PCs don't exist anymore. They were swallowed by the Alliance when Peter MacKay betrayed the party he had just become leader of. Since then he's got to pretend he's Defence Minister and perhaps the worst Justice Minister this country has ever had. There's a reason why the word "Progressive" was taken out of their names when the two parties "merged." There's nothing progressive about this bunch. Not a thing.

More like REGRESSIVE ...... like back 1 thousand Years. Between the Islamic Taliban & this Harper crew of Christian Taliban ...... the both would have us back living in Biblical times ..... Opppps hasn't that already happened ( esp. as far as women's rights and freedoms are concerned ) with all the religious / idealogical wars/ fights

You may be right... unfortunately, for the time being, we are stuck with it. :(
