Are some cities safer than other under C36?

Vancouver and Montreal police have already explicitly stated they will not change enforcement priorities re: c36.

Others have said that those services have gone as far as saying they won't enforce c36. What was the actual language? No enforcement isn't the same as changing enforcement priorities.......

Thanks, I hadn't read those before.

If those articles accurately summarize the stated policies of those cities, then it's just plain wrong to conclude that Montreal/Vancouver won't enforce C-36 as some have claimed.

I guess people will read/hear what they want.

The journalist asked her point blank if they were going to go after clients. She said no, but if in the course of investigating the issues SPVM has given priority to (coercion, trafficking, underage), they think that they have ground to go after some clients, she hinted that they will. She said that she views the new law as a toolbox, and that they'll use elements of it as they see fit, depending on the circumstances.

That makes sense, but frankly that's what I would expect for the entire country. It wouldn't make sense to just go after Johns.

The unfortunate reality is that there is an underbelly to this industry and there always has been (and should be) enforcement action taken on those elements. We could simply get caught up in that.

We can/should stick to the reputable agencies and spas. The question is what happens when the bad ones get busted and this law starts getting tested in the courts.

Well technically c36 applies everywhere so it's just as unsafe everywhere. With that being said, if your in a Bible thumping town in Alberta, I'd watch out when engaging in acts of prostitution.

And, as I stated: 'no change in existing priorities' rather than 'no enforcement', period.

If those articles accurately summarize the stated policies of those cities, then it's just plain wrong to conclude that Montreal/Vancouver won't enforce C-36 as some have claimed.
Re-read the statement/release by VPD re: C36.

Guess you got your pimpdar on. How do you know the "reputable" ones

I guess if they don't look like this or this

Does it mean that ALL licensed mps or escorts agencies that are known are free from having pimped ladies work there. In the SC forum someone asked " how can you tell?", my answer is in most cases you can't. Is is up to the MP or escort agency of SC owner to make sure that the lady in question is not doing it by way of an outside influence?

You raise a good point. It's not like there's a seal of approval or BBB sticker on the front door.

I suppose I speak as a cagey veteran who's been around a while and heard the scuttlebutt. But, a little common sense and doing your homework on terb would go a long way.

I would humbly suggest to you that aside from terb member knowing very little about the business except seeing/touching a naked girl, co-workers and owners don't exactly know the personals. HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR CO-WORKERS, how well do they know you?

Then let us assume that a co-worker finds about a situation, what is the likelyhood of said co-worker extending a hand. This is the stuff the average client doesn't want to know about.
